Peggy Noonan has updated her WSJ article to explain her unfortunate epithet, which was made about "political narrative" and not about Gov. Palin. She believes that she was 'mugged'. Considering the speed with which the MSNBC video clip went viral and the way liberal bloggers are now skewing the context of her remarks, she's probably right. She's not the only victim, though.
She's on TV. The pen isn't the only tool of her trade. As a talking head, she should assume that the other tool of her trade, the mike, is always potentially "hot." Even Jesse Jackson knew that! That's why he whispered those disgusting comments about Obama and black people to another guest while he was waiting to be interviewed on TV.
Sorry, Ms. Noonan. You weren't mugged; you offered up your bag to the purse-snatcher; he simply ran with it. That's what purse-snatchers do! Just admit that you blew it and move on. There are times that even we women have to "man-up!" . . . Oh, my. Is that a sexist comment?

The last time I saw Peggy Noonan on tv, she did not look healthy. She seemed very distracted and many of the thoughts she expressed did not make much sense. But now they do. Her "inner liberal" that she has been surpressing all along has come out of the closet. Tom
