Gravatar I hope to have something on this soon. All is not as it seems, of course.

Gravatar Funny everyone ranted about how heavy handed and authoritative Burke was...but now that he have someone else in his see there is still a ton of other ducks to get in a row. Sounds like Archbishop Burke was being prudent and handling some things first then others.

If they were furious with him then, imagine if he took on everything at once.

Gravatar Oh they've probably been up to that 'fake catholic' stuff... you know, social justice and lending a hand to the poor.

Ok Kyle, I'm listening. What context to this story can you provide that helps us understand it better?

Gravatar Don't feed the trolls.

Gravatar Seriously.

Gravatar "social justice and lending a hand to the poor."

Y'know.. by driving them to abortion clinics, etc.

Gravatar Delete trolls.

Gravatar Welcome to The New Age of Catholic Fiscal Accountability. On the heels of our esteemed bishops commissioning an audit to find out how much cash from Campaign for Human Degred- uh, Development went to ACORN's wilder projects. Would appear the rules are clear. The Archbishop of St. Louis is Chairman/CEO of Catholic Charities. If he wants an audit, he gets an audit. Don't like audit? Audit elsewhere. Ain't ecclesial leadership grand?

Gravatar "seriously"

It's funny... one becomes a 'troll' when he or she disagrees with AmP.

Does that prove that you all are sheep?

Gravatar Or that you have no tact. And always seem snarky and disrespectful.

Gravatar I know Bishop Hermann fairly well, as he is the former pastor of our parish.

He is the farthest thing from the "rigid, confrontational", stereotype to which bishops who actually act like a real bishop are often consigned.

My point?

If he took this action, I'm sure it's the right thing for him to do in a million different dimensions.

I trust Bishop Hermann implicitly.

Gravatar I'm snarky and disrespectful?

Have you read the comments of your fellow sheep?

Gravatar Or are you blind to their disrespect because you happen to agree with them?

Gravatar Kyle,

What is your point? Do you have one or are you just one of those guys who gets their jollies from ticking people off?

What is your history helping the poor?
What is your history of visiting prisoners?
What is your history of working for world peace?

Come on, we're all waiting....

Gravatar Does that prove that you all are sheep?

Yes. Move on.

Yes.

Yes.

Yes.

Gravatar Way to go, Joseph!

Gravatar I don't have to prove my history of helping the poor to you people. The line of work I chose proves my interest in helping the poor. Though I'd rather not share with you clowns where I work... thanks, but no thanks.

And 'what's my point'? I've had many points throughout these posts. Check the archives. You all don't have to agree with what I say for it to be a point.

Gravatar "way to go joseph!" - Kathy

wow.

Gravatar wow, kyle.

Gravatar Calling me a sheep is not respectful, nor is it conducive to discourse. You know nothing about my viewpoints, yet choose to label me anyway. Then you go around saying things just to make people angry. Thus you are a troll. If you disagree with AmP that's fine, but try and go about it without resorting to being disrespectful. Maybe people will actually listen.

Gravatar Oh and I am not condoning other people that make ad hominum statements. You know the way to push people's buttons here, obviously, and seem to enjoy doing it. Unnecessary.

Gravatar Once again Satan has pitted us against each other in order to evade the actual evil being brought to our attention. Catholic Charities all over the United States must be accountable to how they raise funds and who is providing thier funding. Is it Cesar or is it Christ? The outcomes of their 'helping the poor' will be effected by who they are answering to. This is a problem all Catholics should take to heart as I feel St. Louis is not the only Diocese with an issue.
