I'm reserving final judgement

But that's what happens when we're dead, right? ;-)

Gravatar The reaction to his idea is is completely stupid IF his idea was to feature them in their habits as opposed to say, bikinis.

I've known many young, vibrant, and gorgeous sisters whose faces beam excitement and joy - while wearing the complete habit of say, the Nashville Dominicans.

Having a calendar full of 12 young, beautiful, joyful looking sisters would be a great thing to inspire other young girls to consider religious life: it's all Marketing 101.

What makes "the girls nextdoor" so popular? For starters, they are "hot" looking but the whole show main marketting angle is to present the play-boy bunnies/whores as "wholesome", happy, successful, giddy and healthy emotionally and physically... again to 'inspire' other girls to imitate.

What's the attaction of "sex, drugs and rock n roll"? The same thing: people look glamourous, handsome/beautiful, happy, and have all the trappings of pomp and success that kids find attractive.

There's no intrinsic reason why the Church couldn't mount it's own marketting campaign highlighting how funloving, joyful, and fullfilled many young women religious are and how they find meaning and purpose in their love of Christ in the Catholic Church.

But the main qualifier is: show them as they are, not in bikinis.
