Hope you have a great time. As long as you are down there, hit the Hill and enjoy a chocolate drop at Missouri Bakery for me.

You really should have said you were coming to St. Louis and held a get together of Papist Readers....like a faith on tap type thing.

Isn't the oldest church west of the Mississippi the mission church of San Diego de Alcala? I could be wrong, but why credit the French when the Spanish will do?

If you're intersted, and available, there will be a Solemn High Mass in the extraordinary form at St. Francis de Sales Oratory (ICKSP) at 6:30pm for the Feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist.

You are in for a treat; the Basilica of St. Louis is magnificent! I advise anyone traveling through St. Louis to take the time to stop; you will not be sorry you did.

Be sure to check out the new Shrine of the Sacred Heart at the Basilica that was designed by Duncan Stroik.
I understand too that renovations are planned for the Old Cathedral too, though not sure who the architect will be.

Hope you stay away from the floods, Thomas!
Does anyone know if the Shrine of St. Philippine Duchesne in St. Charles is safe from the floodwaters? I saw on the news last night that a levee broke there.

Did you make it to Our Lady of the Snows? After the Basilica I was... disappointed.
