Gravatar A silly story, but I will say the cheese in question is in fact quite delicious. It's wonderful with a bit of tomato and olive oil in an insalata caprese. Who could blame Papa Ratzi for enjoying it?!

Gravatar This Spring.

Comes the amazing second chapter of Thomas Peter's epic masterpiece:

The Chronicles of the favorites food of Pope Benedict XVI: The caper of the buffalo mozzarella cheese

Coming to a theater near you!

Gravatar It's good cheese.

The part about priests and nuns prizing mozzarella cheese is because they aren't really human. They are cyborgs manufactured in a secret Vatican crypt under Castel Gandolfo.

Gravatar I can tell from living in Napoli for many years, the buffala cheese is gold in Italy. I have been to several factories, and watched the cheese process. Believe me it is so clean. The Napolitans are picky when it comes to their food. The garbage problem in the area have not taken its toll on my favorit cheese. Il Papa has a superb taste in everything.

Gravatar Pope Benedict drinks orange juice!

Please don't spread such scurrilous rumours!

Gravatar We've had "Pope likes beer", "Pope likes Fanta", "Pope likes currant buns" and now "Pope likes cheese".

Any day now, just wait for the "Pope eats food. No, really!" headline. Just wait.

Gravatar Agreed. He eats? Noooooooo.....

Actually, I'd think people expect Il Papa to have state dinners and the such every night. He eats normal food? Wacky.

Yeah, I liked that part about Il Papa's secret police, ushering in cheese shipments. If the cheese is no good, you end up with a horse head in your bed.

Gravatar Why is it such a big deal that priests and nuns go nuts for cheese? In the Middle Ages they were often the ones inventing them! The same applies for beer and wine.
