This will be exciting. I wish the Holy Father luck in trying to hail a cab.:)

Did the Holy Father decline to include Boston because of the scandal, or because of time limitations?
(By the way, there might have been logistical problems in Boston because the visit overlaps with Boston Marathon weekend).

I love it! I'm gonna bring a throng of people with me to the UN ['cause you know there's gonna be a bunch of haters there picketing]. We'll be the ones waiving the Filipino and Texas flags and yelling "Viva Il Papa!" Can someone, anyone tell me how/where to get tickets to the Masses and any other events possible? +JMJ+

April it is then...
Prepare the couch,
Pour the drink,
This I vouch,
We'll only doze a wink.

I was wondering if tickets or registraion is required to attend the public mass at Yankee stadium? I cannot find any information on this.
Thanks!

As the day nears, there will probably be information posted on where to obtain tickets for the public Mass. I would suggest constantly checking in on the Archdiocese of New York website. Or, sign up for the Catholic Young Adult mailing list at catholicnyc.com. There will very likely be a mass e-mail sent out with info on how to get tickets around the beginning of Lent or thereabouts.

Mel: Lirioroja is pointing you in the right direction - that's how I'd go about it. Contact your local diocese or NYC/DC and ask politely. :)

Heck, since I'm on our Diocesan Pastoral Council, I'm going to suggest our Diocese plan a "pilgrimage" of sorts for the great days ... I can't imagine when our little diocese would ever even get close to a papal event ... can't drive across the water ...
I truly don't know how our Holy Father is going to manage it if by some miracle he accepts the Canadian invitation ... did you see where they're collecting signatures on a petition pleading with him to come? That would be 3 transatlantic trips within 4 months (US, Canada and Australia) ... a bit much for an octogenerian with a heart condition ... but then, it's such a loving heart ...

Too bad he's not coming to Los Angeles, where he can see all of the ridiculous liturgical abuses happening. Sometimes I wonder if he is even aware of how bad it is - and if he is, why doesn't he do something about it? Last week at mass, I (barely) endured a drum solo in the middle of the rock 'n roll 'Our Father.' It was so terrible. I think US Catholics should go on strike - if anything, for that awful music that makes my eardrums bleed. It's laughably bad.

How do I get tickets for the mass at the DC stadium or get to see him at the Basilica?

Boston doesn't need a a papal visit because the Sox won. Yankee Stadium needs this blessing.
