Too bad the judge wasn't looking out for the best interests of the child. She was torn from the arms of good, loving parents (the Olsons), the only parents she knew, and was given to 2 selfish pigs, who obviously were not interested in the best interests of the child, either. Nothing like traumatizing a child to satisfy the wants of a couple of immature twits! (And I truly hope I'm wrong about that!) Moral of the story: Get the papers signed first.

Asking the intercession of St. Ann and St. Joseph would be in order.

Moral of the story: Get the papers signed first.
I wish it really were that simple. Sadly, these sorts of situations (and I'm generalizing here, of course), require stepping out on a limb. If we had demanded that papers be signed then and there, they would have gone elsewhere. And we knew, without a doubt, that Elanor needed our help immediately. So we'll never regret taking her in and working toward her adoption. Our prayer is that the birth parents do, in fact, get their act together. Unfortunately, we have good reason to fear the worst. But it is in God's hands; we have done all that we can, save continuing to pray daily for dear Elanor.

I find it ironic that we have to get a license to have a da*n dog, but anybody with a bottle or a joint can make a baby...
