I like his line, "with all do respect, I think our Church [is wrong on women ordination]".
Let's reword that:
With all due respect, I totally disrespect your enforcement of this unjust rule and I think Jesus made a mistake.
Adios, soon to be mister Bourgeois.
What are the odds that, if he doesn't recant and is actually excommunicated, he starts his own church?

My neighbor use to give us old Maryknoll magazines and I always thought they did such wonderful things. Helped inspire me to want to do mission work. I guess there are always some bad eggs in every dozen, huh?

Even heretics know the Episcopal Church is dying off - that's why they all call themselves Catholic even though their beliefs aren't.

Fr. B's response to the Vatican speaks for itself. He must go, as in leave the building, hit the road. Leaving such a heretic in the pulpit puts people's souls at risk.
Perhaps a saintly soul will keep in touch with (soon to be) Mr. B and persuade him to turn from his errors.

Professor Peters: is dismissal from the clerical state a perpetual expiatory penalty? If it is, does the CDF need Papal confirmation to impose a penal precept with dismissal as the penalty, or could they do it on their own authority?

Chewed on this story, then got the underlying motivation- what our friend Richard, commenter on this and other fine blog, calls Pelvic Issues. Alleged Father Roy wants to be his own Pope. He wants Popettes to surround him. Put another way- he aspires to be the religious equivalent of Hugh Hefner, in public and private. When in doubt, reach for Pelvic Issues as an answer. Works most of the time.
