Part of me is of the thinking - and I am not an iconoclast - is that when the church falls into disrepair and the faithful are apathetic, they don't derserve these buildings anymore.

The appointments should be shipped to Africa and Asia where they will be used, the bricks should be auctioned off, and the faithful who are left who give a care should be told to start rebuilding.
