thomas: give the bishop a chance. he's trying to be as charitable as can be.

i think if biden forces the issue (as in, if he dares to come up to receive communion from the bishop), he'll get what he deserves.

but it sounds to me like bishop malooly has a plan, when he says that he'll get "a lot more mileage out of a conversation." we'll have to wait and see.
