Matt is an amazing and talented artist, pray that his passionate Catholic music gets more "mainstream" exposure on Christian radio... he's that good!

He is a wonderful musician, and his music (along with a few others) has helped me keep my daughter away from the mainstream tripe.
Mr. Maher played at the LA RE Congress last weekend, is heavily involved in the LifeTeen youth ministry, and is a music minister at St. Timothy (Mesa AZ), where LifeTeen started.
By association, his music MUST be scandalous, and so must be avoided by all who are truly Catholic.

Darn! He doesn't have "Edmund's Song" on there! At a teen event in NoVa last fall, one of the teens asked him his favorite song he had written, and he named this song which he wrote after reading _The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe_, but hasn't recorded. He would have given us a sample, but his guitar wasn't handy.
His songs are amazing in that they use Catholic Theology! I have used his "The End and the Beginning" song (you know, the one which begins with the word "Transubstantiation"!) to teach about the connection between the Mass and the Liturgy in the book of Revelation. We have a wealth of richness in our Catholic tradition. It is great to see an artist dipping into it.

Some is, some isn't. He has some beautiful and appropriate pieces.
How about this for the Kyrie?

And he has a number of appropriate entrance or sending songs, depending of course on the readings and homily.
Or this for the Lamb of God?
