Gravatar Wow, looks incredibly insightful. It will make a great gift for our semmie friends!

I'll want to read it too! =P

Gravatar Archbishop Burke giving this book out is, for credibility purposes, like Michael Jordan appearing on a box of Wheaties!

Gravatar With a humble person, whether he is laughed at or esteemed, praised or blamed, honoured or despised, whether people pay attention to him or pass him by, it is all the same to him.
HUMILITY is to the various virtues what the chain is to the ROSARY; take away the chain and the beads are scattered, remove Humility and ALL the virtues vanish....Saint John Vianney, Patron of Priests.

Gravatar Would this book be helpful for lay people, too?

Gravatar After I get a chance to read it, I'll let you know. Certainly pride is a temptation we all face, and we are all called to a life of virtue.

Gravatar See,my children, the first virtue is Humility, the second Humility, and the third Humility...The saints thought themselves nothing,... and God gave them all they asked.-- On Humility.

Gravatar Igottagetit.

Gravatar hmmm! gotta get it too...

Gravatar "Is this book helpful for lay people, too?"

I'm half way through it, and so far, I would say, Yes, it is helpful for the lay folk as well. two reasons: it will help you to support and pray for your priests and seminarians, and if you are taking your faith seriously, you will face many of the same spiritual attacks as priests and sems, this book gives you some weapons to defend yourself.

Gravatar From what I read in this blog, I know this is a book worth eating.

I received my M.A. in theology at a Dominican studium generale, and now I'm working towards my M.Th. at a theological college attached to a seminary/house of formation.

Needless to say, many of my seminarian-classmates are offended by having to share a class with lay students. Fr Cole, I know, would not be stingy with comments about this incubating clericalism!
