Gravatar Oh for more enlightened times when the knights carried real swords...

Gravatar While this is obviously annoying and deplorable is it really 'Internet terrorism'? As Lenin, who knew something about terrorism, said, the purpose of terrorism is to terrorise. Are you really terrorised by this? Internet harassment, sure, but terrorism?

Gravatar right john. we need to save graphic words for graphic crimes.

Gravatar Ed,

Since the hackers changed the pictures on the website, doesn't this qualify as a "graphic" crime?

Gravatar *whew*, I'm glad Will said it before me. :)

Gravatar I have to agree with John and Ed on this, this isn't so much as an act of terrorism as plain old run of the mill hacking - which though deplorable doesn't carry, and shouldn't carry the same weight as crimes called terrorism.

Gravatar WAC, it might be some sort of cyber trespass, and hecne actionable, but it's not terrorism. That's my only point.

Gravatar Thomas got the joke.

As to whether or not this is according-to-Hoyle cyberterrorism, I don't really care-I'm too damn mad.

Gravatar I wonder if this juvenile stunt (and probably the people who did this are in their teens or early 20s) is connected to the new church in Qatar.

By all means, I hope this hack attack is reported to the feds.

Gravatar "al" is an article, i.e. "the" and "kardinal" is the direct transliteration the Arabic word ,كاردينال, meaning cardinal. As far as "sana" goes, your guess is as good as mine, since I am not familiar with the word. Translation from transliteration in Arabic is trial and error.

Gravatar Al-Sana Kardinal means, or could mean, "The Year of the Cardinal"

Gravatar The Knights need to get some loaner techies from the Vatican (remember when attempts to hack the Vatican website were utterly defeated?).

Seriously, though, the Knights need to induct someone with web design experience who could get this stuff taken care of immediately if it happens again. Letting it just sit there online is pretty sad.

Here's one case in which Catholics just have to stand up for themselves. I see little hope that the legal authorities will do anything at all to find or punish the culprits.

peace

Gravatar If it was to say "year of the cardinal," it should read "sana[t] al kardinal," but we might not expect correct grammar
