Odd typo in the original article - it seems that an attosecond isn't 10-18 second long, but rather "10 to the negative 18th power" long (at least according to wikipedia, font of all knowledge...).

Thanks Tim,
I was wondering if that was what was meant.
Not to sound daft or anything, but how is it that you can "film" an electron when something like film speed just simply doesn't seem to be able to move fast enough to capture the event. Who cares if you can highlight a 150 attosecond event with a precision laser pointer. How do you get the film to process correctly?

"Film" is, I suppose, an anachronism. Practically all scientific images are first captured digitally nowadays. Once captured, they can then be converted to film if that is necessary,
