Gravatar The Pope would be SO proud of these American Bishops!!

Gravatar Yes,"masterful" is the word to describe this statement. It's clear and concise; I will be sharing this as much as possible with my parishioners. Ever onward, Christian soldiers and Catholic bishops!

Gravatar Hooray! The AP has a little blurb on the Biden correction that's currently on Drudge. Hopefully the masses will see it tomorrow morning!

(Is it wrong of me to want these politicians to keep blabbering so that the Bishops can continue to use them as examples?)

Gravatar RM: Curious that you should mention examples, as in bad ones...

There is a saying about scientific experiments: "No experiment is ever a total failure. In the worst case, a failed experiment may after all serve as a bad example"...

God bless!

Gravatar Does anyone know where this text can be found (other than here)? I looked on www.usccb.org, but I didn't see it there.

Gravatar I stand by the text, it should be on the USCCB website tomorrow morning.

Gravatar I'm with you AmP; I got the email with this text at 4:43pm today. It should be up on the website by tomorrow am. I second your assessment: it is a masterful statement (better than the first even, I think) and really places the burden on *pro-death folks to prove their case.
*I say pro-death, versus pro-abortion, because even if there is a medical reason to "end a pregnancy" of a woman carrying a viable fetus, there is nothing in that statement that implies the necessary death of the baby. So it seems to me it's really not about choice, or freedom of the woman, but the death of the baby.

Gravatar I stand by the text, it should be on the USCCB website tomorrow morning.

Oh, I'm not questioning the authenticity of the text. Sorry if my comment came off that way. I just wanted an official source for future reference. Thanks for the information. I will look on their site tomorrow.

Gravatar Fantastic, concise, comprehensive.

Gravatar Wow, awesome statement. Just really beautiful..

Gravatar I will paraphrase Mrs. Obama and say that, for the first time in my adult life, I'm proud of my bishop's conference.

Gravatar It should be published in every newspaper in America and the bishops should read it to every radio station and television channel in every city in the country!

What a great document!

Gravatar I assume the New York Slimes is surpressing this information because they do not deem it "newsworthy?" Tom

Gravatar May God Bless our Pope and our Bishops!

Gravatar For anyone who is interested, the statement has finally been posted on the USCCB web site, at the following link:

Gravatar Anyone ever heard of separation of church and state. The same level you judge others on, God will judge you on that same level, so thread softly!

Gravatar Don't forget Bishop Morlino's homily

Gravatar On Wednesday Bishop Malooly issued a statement (repeated the USCCB statement) and Bishop Aqila, Diocese of Fargo, issued a statement. Should bring the total to 9 (counting Morlino's homily)
