Gravatar The worst part about this really is that to the abortion doctor, only the woman exists, because a more than sufficient case can be made against abortion without even acknowledging that a child does in fact exist.

Every bit of evidence that exists screams that "safe, comfortable abortions" don't exist. I've argued folks to the point of retreat without even using the word 'fetus,' 'embryo,' 'baby,' or 'child.'

Gravatar Great comments, Thom.

I read the lines "Dr. Romalis, you won't remember me, but you did an abortion on me in 1992...and if it weren't for you I wouldn't be here now" and immediately I had this visual image a young woman and an older doctor sitting engulfed in the flames of Hell as they talked.

Gravatar Quote, "I must live with security measures that I never dreamed about when I was learning how to deliver babies." DUH????? What an idiot! Doesn't that tell him something??

Gravatar Ed, great comment. Terrifying image.

Gravatar I wish I could draw it like I saw it.

Gravatar I can't even imagine the cognitive dissonance that has to occur before a person can convince himself that killing babies is "helping people."

This is the face of evil, always rationalizing the darkest, most foul, most filthy acts of horrific blasphemy against almighty God. May God have mercy on the soul of the person so steeped in this evil.

Gravatar The dissonance is easy to disect - it's the same as any grave transgression that I'm sure all people, unfortunately, have committed in their lives. You begin by telling yourself that your case is different, that you're the special exception. You convince yourself that people who think you're doing the wrong thing are attacking you, rather than your decision. It thus becomes an issue of pride, and well, no one likes to have wounded pride. We all know as well that once someone forces us to actually think about the consequences of our behaviour, we usually end up doing the right thing. That's why when abortion centres are forced by law to provide a waiting period and information on the full effects of the procedure the number of abortions inevitably goes down.

Gravatar "I had a very severe gun shot wound to my left thigh. My thigh bone was fractured, large blood vessels severed, and a large amount of my thigh muscles destroyed. I almost died several times from blood loss and multiple other complications."

Isn't this what he does to the 19 or 20 week old fetus?

Gravatar Saw this on a bumper sticker this week: "It's easy to be pro-choice when you're not the one who's being killed." I will remember it.

Gravatar It really annoys me when the Doctor employs the same tactics as Morgentaler - appealing to his injuries and misfortune as justification for his work, no crimes. I heard the stories in person, and I was amazed at the crowd, who were just as engrossed as anyone in the violence. Everyone of his supporters missed the point. And they accuse prolifers of making the issue emotionally based around the "ideology of the unborn child"? Excuse us for using what science already shows.

Gravatar On an interesting note, the title of the piece, "Why I am an abortion doctor" parallels the structure of the title of Bertrand Russell's famous work, "Why I am not a Christian." Coincidence? I think not. By the way, if you really want to feel like puke is just about to creep up to your soft palate, click on the link and read the blurb at the top of the article that the National Post decided to highlight.

Gravatar rhiannon - excellent contributions.
