Appointments for the U.S. coming on Tuesday hasn't really been the rule of thumb since during Pope Benedict's pontificate. They happen on just about any day of the week.

yes, but there are certainly more "new bishop tuesdays" in my recent memory than any other day. but i see your point, perhaps not so surprising/shocking. it just seems that whenever it *isn't* a tuesday it's in a week where tuesday was slow and the date chosen had me occupied with several pressing things that keep me from blogging about it thoroughly!
