Gravatar You have to go back to about one's sophomore year in high school to find such moronic trash arranged into complete sentences.

Gravatar Did you ever get the urge to shake someone by the shoulders and ask: "Are you really that stupid?"

Gravatar bill912-I'll add with a few slaps aside of the head! (WHACK! WHACK!)

How dumb can this woman be?

Gravatar One word: post-abortive.

Gravatar As a conservative who took an informal vow of poverty, I have to say the little woman is quite mistaken, but you can expect anyone who uses the word neoconservative to spew such leftist venom. She's probably only covering for some unrepented sin by trying to discredit the people who know it's a sin. Seen it a hundred times. Poor girl.

Gravatar I always love your commentary:
"The one line of hers I most agree with?

'The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops is meeting in Baltimore this week.'

She's absolutely right, they sure did!"

Haha. Thanks for injecting some lightheartedness into an otherwise outrageous message...

Gravatar Thomas Scott Painter,
She could be doing as you suggest, but I think it just as likely to think she's just regurgitating what's she's been told to think and say.

If she's like other media members, she's probably almost completely surrounded only by other leftists, so she gets no exposure to facts about the Church (or the political right), just hearsay, rumor, and slander.

Remember the reporter in 2004 who didn't know a single person who voted for George W. Bush?

Gravatar One in three women have aborted their young. Don't ever take it for granted that you are speaking to a woman who is post-abortive. I have done this to my regret too many times. This theory explains the anger, obstinance and disrespect.

Gravatar

"The Democratic Party has adopted the attitude that abortion should be safe, legal, and rare."

Interesting line from the column. I have two questions:

1. How can an abortion be "safe" if its sole objective is to kill someone?

2. If there's nothing wrong with performing an abortion, why would there be any reason to want abortion to be "rare?"

Gravatar 2. If there's nothing wrong with performing an abortion, why would there be any reason to want abortion to be "rare?"

I've ask a similar question (why "reduce abortion" if it is morally neutral?) 'till I was blue in the face. All I've gotten back is crickets chirping. But I'll keep asking it as it is quite the teaching silence.

Gravatar Lest anyone forget, the Democratic Party dropped 'rare' from their platform this year and voiced their "unequivocal support of a woman's right to choose abortion." The author conveniently overlooks that fact.
Read the text and please pass it along to all those "pro-life Democrats." The party of death doesn't want them anymore!

"The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman's right to choose a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay, and we oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right. The Democratic Party also strongly supports access to affordable family planning services and comprehensive age-appropriate sex education which empowers people to make informed choices and live healthy lives. We also recognize that such health care and education help reduce the number of unintended pregnancies and thereby also reduce the need for abortions. The Democratic Party also strongly supports a woman's decision to have a child by ensuring access to and availability of programs for pre- and post-natal health care, parenting skills, income support, and caring adoption programs."

Gravatar Lest anyone forget, the Democratic Party dropped 'rare' from their platform this year and voiced their "unequivocal support of a woman's right to choose abortion."

True, but it was Kmiec et al that gassed on about reducing them, so even if the "rare"-abortion dog was dead, the "reduced-abortion" tail still wagged. And still managed to hypnotize not a few Catholics.

Gravatar Happily, this was short twaddle. But twaddle nonetheless. Ms. Hart clearly identifies the Democratic Party as having greater religious standing than the Catholic Church or Her shepherds. Thus identifying her true religion. Silliest notion was that 'these citizens-' Catholics out of step with Magisterium- decided the issue of abortion. Nope. Nine judges did on January 22, 1973. We pay for their sins. Along with about 50 million other folks who didn't make 'citizenship' status.

Gravatar I'd like to make a suggestion to Ms. Hart -- Why don't you go to the nearest gas station and put the air hose in your ear? The air supply in your head is leaking!

Gravatar Have you noticed how "neoconservative" has lost its original meaning? Apparently these folks have been shouting neoconservative for so long they've forgotten what it means. Or maybe never knew. I guess we're all neoconservatives now...

Gravatar Wow! I see a bright future for her writing for Jack Chick publications.

Gravatar "The Catholic church has adopted the attitude for centuries, that women who became pregnant in bad circumstances were suffering for their sins, and deserved whatever came their way, including, but not limited to being separated from their infants at birth"

... because it's so much better to separate women from their infants before birth, tearing the children out out of their mother's wombs.

Gravatar Wow, we control our biology! No more being arbitrarily punished for eating four giant pizzas and a wedding cake by gaining weight -- now we just cleanly, coldly kill anyone who manufactures a scale and it's as if the calories never existed. Never again will we be punished for standing outside in the rain with our heads uncovered by getting wet -- just ice whoever the water drips on and pretend we're dry as a bone -- ta da! If you feel constrained to breathe air, just get under the sea and start trying to breathe water -- and if you see someone with scuba gear, pull it off and slap the air hose on yourself and pretend you're breathing water. So someone dies -- it's all for the cause of freedom to control your own body's functions without being arbitrarily limited byt he right-wing conspiracy to punish you with the laws of nature. Ohh say can you see (sniff).

Gravatar I learned everything I asserted in my article at the hands of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Society of Jesus, and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Since my education was undertaken by these kind folks, your aspersions on my ability to think reflect less favorably on you than you might imagine.

I maintain that the church's stand on abortion and birth control is counter-productive, anti-woman and anti-humanitarian.

Gravatar I've never had an abortion, either. I believe that it is the wrong choice for me. It is not, however, my (or your) place to make that decision for other women who have to live with the consequences of your interference.

Gravatar DEAR ANN WEAVER HART..........
who's anti-woman? have we ever, ever, heard of feminazis running to the aid of a conservative woman. you only support liberal/socialist women.....all others can choke as far as you are concerned. you liberals call porno .....free speech....while it demeans women to the lowest form of life on earth. you crocodile tear about doings with a womans body as you kill baby women and ignore porn which is the wholesaling of rape. you liberal hypocryte.

Gravatar You religious types are lovers of hate speech "feminazis", and love to make accusations.

Why are women forbidden the priesthood in the Catholic Church? Why are women only permitted to use one form of (non)birth control? You talk about love, but you act on domination, control and hatred.

No thanks, I'll pass on your cup.
