For those with strong stomachs, the longer version (10min) is here:

It includes the 'Gospel' and alleged 'Consecration'.

Gravatar How conformist. They stand when the priest -- a WHITE MAN! -- enters.

Gravatar Thought-
These call to action types feel a need to keep their liturgies "current" or "fresh and exciting." It calls to mind a couple who struggle to keeps their sex life "exciting" by resorting to deeper and deeper levels of perversion - role playing, porn, and I guess even puppetry. When sex is nothing more than a physical act, you must keep turning it up a notch least it get boring.

It seems an appropriate parallel to me as the mass is where Christ becomes "one flesh" with his bride the Church. An act that is meant to be be both unitive and procreative. These "liturgies" are neither. They are the equivalent of liturgical eroticism.

Like those who do not truly understand sex, these people do not understand their is a depth to the actions of the liturgy.

Gravatar "These people are sick and should be watched, lest they become dangerous."

At one point, I thought I was watching aerobics in the geriatric ward.

Gravatar Love the force-powered puppets at the beginning! (it's "Find the Star Wars connection day," folks! :-))

Gravatar I am not sure if I should laugh or cry. *sigh*. This is just.so.sad.

Gravatar The most frightening thing is how stone-faced they all were when the gigantor-puppets came down the aisle preceded by the whirling-dirvishes.

Anyone who could refrain from bursting out laughing in the face of that has to be mentally ill.

Gravatar Where did this happen? Whose jurisdiction was this under?

Gravatar Aside from laughing until my sides hurt, I tried to picture what this would look like if Benedict had visited this mass while in America. That would have been the most surreal even I could possibly imagine ...

Gravatar Finally, real life OCP cover art in living color!

Gravatar I am a priest of the Diocese of Oakland (next to San Jose where this 'mass' was 'performed'). Let me assure all of you that what we all see here will not be here in 10 years. I can assure you of this. We have many holy vocations in this dioscese (Oakland) and others in the area. Just look at the ages of these people in the video. What vocations have they produced? How have they contributed to the spiritual well-being of the Church? Please pray that the course that we are on as a Church continues and that the Lord grant us holy and sincere priests.

Gravatar If you noticed the average age of those in the video was well over "Senoior Citizen" the new revolution, the "new Evangelization" and Pope Benedict's "New Pentecost" is in the youth. If a few years that will just be a bad memory.

Gravatar What a load of foolishness! St. Mark's in Goleta used to be a hotbed of this type under the Paulist priests who staffed the parish. Now it's not, thanks to the current pastor who simply wouldn't put up with the liturgical abuses they had grown accustomed to doing. The pastor has suffered much at the hands of "open minded" people like this, all elderly, embittered, and heterodox.

Gravatar BTW, St. Mark's variety of foolishness was known as "Voice of the Faithful," another group like CA to distrust.

Gravatar I thought it was lovely.

Gravatar Ugh, chills up the spine... all the wrong kind of chills. As one other commenter said, look at the ages of the congregation: aging hippies or older, all. My children -- entering young adulthood -- are so opposed to this kind of nonsense, it's encouraging.

Gravatar Wow. That was as funny as it was pathetic. We should just cut out social security now...maybe it'll speed up the harvest. Failing that, I might have to speed up production on the Bazooka of Justice...it's very Elijah.

I shall pray for these, when I go unto the altar of God.

Gravatar It would be shocking if it weren't so appalling.
