I was really thrilled when I read Bishop Barbarito's column in the Palm Beach edition of the Florida Catholic this weekend. He mentioned FOCA and the Florida marriage amendment.

You can add Memphis's Bishop Steib to the list of equivocating bishops.

Paul, I see what you mean. If a person has a well-formed conscience, they cannot vote for a pro-abortion candidate.
How do these guys get into leadership positions?

It's over 80 now and I'm sure the list is growing.

I posted this comment at Inside Catholic:
Voting guidelines vs. Church teaching on abortion
Perhaps there should be two lists, one listing the bishops who have spoken out about Church teachings on abortion, such as those who have corrected Pelosi and Biden and another that lists the bishops who have spoken out about voting pro-life.
I add here: perhaps a third list for bishops who have trivialized the abortion issue.

Dear Archbishop Timothy Dolan, Where is Your Defense of Life? (Archbishop of the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, archdiocese)

Posting this again not for traffic to my blog, but as a way to get the word out that here is ONE bishop who has remained silent, and in doing so, it seems very uncharacteristic of him.
