I don't think he'd do well in the military. Obeying lawful orders doesn't seem to be one of his strong points.

So... basically his active concelebration would make that "mass" a Mass? Correct? Given that the necessities were in order?

That is very sad...
We need to pray for him.

Gravatar he's not joining the military. apparently he's one of the leaders of the annual protest at the army school of the americas, in which many catholic college students participate.

Gravatar Visitor, no it wouldn't.

Gravatar Leaders of the Womenpriests say that three bishops in good standing have performed ordinations in Europe. But they have pledged not to identify the bishops until their deaths.

How convenient. Wait until a Bishop in good standing dies, then make a charge like this against him so he can neither confirm nor, more importantly to the WP's, deny it.

Gravatar Just a heads up...it would be a GOOD idea for Catholic college students to NOT PARTICIPATE in protests at the Army's School of the America's, because there is NOTHING but crazy church dissenters there hawking their leftist agendas. I know some Catholic campus ministry groups (Belmont Abbey College comes to mind) think that they are doing a "Catholic" thing by protesting there, but in reality...they are just enabling these left-wing, nut jobs to grow in their hatred of America and the Church.

BTW...check out the story about Fr. Roy in the online website of National Catholic Reporter and read the comments by posters that support this left-wing, nut job of a priest. It's very sickening. Hopefully, that generation will be long gone and six feet under relatively soon.

Gravatar choirmaster...maybe we should hope and pray for their conversion of heart as opposed for counting the days till they stand before God in judgment. Just a thought.

Gravatar Madden,

Believe it or not...I've tried praying for their conversion, but it hasn't worked. These people are literally poisoning the faithful by their actions. So...for me, it's better to know that they will be standing before God in a relatively short time. There...justice will be dealt!

Gravatar Choir...For what it's worth, I'd believe you on the prayer.

Gravatar It must be very troubling to be in the position Fr. Bourgeois has put himself in. Those ladies around the altar don't want him. Fort Benning doesn't want him. Even the Pope doesn't want him. I wonder if his Mum will take him in. Everyone should have at least one person who wants him.

Gravatar ... and he concelebrated without a chasuble ...

Gravatar Um...you're sending an extremely mixed signal here. My fear here is that you're giving the military an unfavorable image (like it's a 'last resort' kind of thing..at least that was my first impression).

I know he's not joining the military, but are we to think that this is what he's resorted to? Or are you simply pointing to his non-clerical attire.

We definitely are not about 'promoting' war, etc., but military service is a noble profession - our hope and prayer is that military force is used when necessary and for the right reasons.

So...what's up with the photo.

Gravatar If you know the story, the photo works fine.

Gravatar Gee, what a surprise...A Maryknoll priest involved in something unorthox? Who'd a' thunk it?
