The last time I checked, Us Weekly is nothing more than a tabloid. They put up shocking and revealing headlines on the cover in order to sell magazines. And the people who are boycotting are retarded, Us weekly has a enough loyal readers to keep the magazine afloat.
Honestly, it would be extremely BORING if it said: "Sarah Palin: Mother of the Year" or some other BS like that. ZZZZZZZZZ snooze fest. Plus, her daughter sleeps around and got pregnant, so it's not like she's a good mother or role model. Don't get me wrong, I'm still voting for McCain and Palin but to be ignorant and pretend she's perfect is just plain wrong. She may look like a librarian, but who knows what other skeletons are hiding in her closet.

US WEEKLY is published by Wenner Media (also of Rolling Stone, which is clearly in the tank for Obama. (Jan Wenner donated 5,450 to his campaign). So I can't say this came as a suprise.

Oprah Winfrey may feel the wrath of the American heartland next, given her refusal to host Palin despite viewers' requests and her campaigning for Obama.

"...the people who are boycotting are retarded..."

Classy!

"Plus, her daughter sleeps around and got pregnant, so it's not like she's a good mother or role model."

Plural? How many guys did she sleep around with? And how do you know? And, if the fact that one of one's children did something wrong is proof that one is not a good mother or role model, then the only good mother who ever lived is the Blessed Virgin Mary.

St. Monica's kid slept around and had a kid...

I'm not saying she's a saint. Heck I know just a bit about her. (Mountains more than on Obama) But plenty of good parents have had kids make some crappy decisions.

haha, the best point I've heard is why didn't Us use this headline of "Babies, Lies, and Scandal" for John Edwards?

Gravatar Where did people get the idea that the only point of boycotting something is to sink it entirely? A little reflection might be in order before tossing out "retarded". Madden and Bill handled the wildly unfair bad mother objection well. As for "who knows what other skeletons are hiding in her closet", isn't this a perfect example of tabloid thinking?

Gravatar Pray for Van. I can find several mortal sins in his post.

Gravatar "The last time I checked, Us Weekly is nothing more than a tabloid."

Oh, so if a tabloid expresses contempt and hatred for a woman like SP and her family, and synchophatic adultation for BO and his family, we should content ourselves with a tsk-tsk?

I remember when tabloids were just tabloids, and I'd like to think to think that millions upon millions of people don't take the average tabloid seriously. But I never doubted that tabloids could be subject to the same kind of public criticism when they talk at length about real men and women in such obviously discriminatory ways, and not about three-headed alien babies from Mars.

Gravatar AOL has a poll that asks: Is the Media biased against Palin? This just confirmed 150% that fact. Sad. I knew the attacks were going to get brutal against Palin. There is no telling how LOW the media can stoop. Pathetic.

Gravatar Perhaps a Tipping Point moment- when the culture of bitter clingers to their religion, guns and antipathy- still Obama's best and most honest moment this election year- rebel against the media figures who mock and sneer at them, publicly and at their cocktail parties. Wenner Media may or may not be on shaky financial ground, but the dueling covers of Us Weekly could make the red ink flow more forcefully. And wonder of wonder-look what basic or cable network consistently scored the most viewers during the GOP convention, particularly on the night of Sarah's coming out party- Fox News. Which mops the floor with ultraleft MSNBC and regular brand left CNN in prime time every evening anyway. Market forces are prevailing. What a concept.

Gravatar The irony is that the article inside is suppose to be fairly balanced and the author says he is voting McCain.

It is the cover caption that is so idiotic.

Gravatar Did you notice? US WEEKLY is apparently making subscribers ask TWICE to cancel subscriptions before honoring the request. Well, folks, there's goes another canon of journalistic practice out the window when it inconveniences the Left Wing Media, namely, the right to cancel anytime on written notice.

Gravatar Megyn Kelly on Fox did a wonderful interrogation of the Senior Editor of US Weekly.

Gravatar Amazon.com is offering a free 12 week subscription to US weekly if you make a certain amount in purchases.

I think the boycott is hurting someone.

Gravatar Jeff Miller,

I don't know about that. Having heard excerpts read, the piece itself gives at least a little credence to the lies and the rumors.

They seem surprised that their own advice ("if you don't like it, you don't have to watch/read/hear it") is being taking. :-D

Gravatar *WEEKY*: like your title. It is a Very weak publication.

Gravatar Boycott, YES! ALL Christians especially Catholics would be breaking the Ten Commandments if they regularly would read such trash. The Lord has spoken over and over against this unedifying chatter, gossip and slander...just too much negative CHATTER. A VERY GOOD read today is http://www.zenit.org/article-235...23555? l=english Thanks,Thomas! Excellent homily!

Gravatar Well I am sure the people who are boycotting don't really subscribe or buy the magazine anyway. Anyway Obama is going to win no matter what.

Gravatar Anyway Obama is going to win no matter what.

That camp sure doesn't act like it.

Gravatar "Well I am sure the people who are boycotting don't really subscribe or buy the magazine anyway."

Please explain the evidence you have that makes you "sure". You do have evidence, don't you?

Gravatar Right, Scott. This week was the first time I sense panic in the BO camp.

Gravatar Anyway Obama is going to win no matter what.

A month ago, I might have agreed with you. Now, not so much.

Gravatar Obama is going to lose. And his slavish media followers are helping him to lose it.

Thank you, Lord.

Gravatar I like that Ed, * the BO camp *! Perhaps they could use THE POPE'S COLOGNE?

Gravatar Bill912
What evidence do I have? Common sense. We both know US Weekly is going to be around for years and will be doing fine with regards to subscriptions and news stand sales. If anything the covers have endeared them to the left.

And yes, Obama will win because there will be an unprecedented youth vote that has not existed in previous elections.

Gravatar Yikes, I hadn't noticed but do now. Let's see where we stand, we can't say his name, and now I guess we can't use his initials. he he he he.

Gravatar I don't know about the unprecedented youth vote. My Mom was telling me about girls who said they were going to vote for Obama "because he is SOOOO CUTE" - but if they meet a cuter guy the day before, they may be too busy out on a date to remember to vote... historically, conservative republicans have been the most reliable voting bloc and they are fired up more than ever.

Gravatar IOW, Dave cannot cite any evidence. Dave, buy a dictionary and look up the word.

Gravatar Is Palin prepared to be president or don't we care?
