I, too, cannot imagine why it would be so important to remove the cross.

It also does not sit well with me that the cross is "allowed" stand only because a federal judge has decided that it communicates "primarily non-religious messages." I wonder if that is the position the Thomas More Center argued in district court. I'm not sure it is worth winning the fight on those terms.
