What's wrong with a convention potentially meaning something? Doesn't the proximity of the numbers in SC and FLA point to this vote actually meaning something to many more people than in the previous 4 or 5 presidential elections? This is exactly the kind of thing Tocqueville loved about the potential for the American government, no? "Self-interest rightly understood" and all that it entails?
