Yep, I always go for Ms., it's the one thing I'm sure of despite my fluctuating surname. I was shocked to have someone from work, someone who should have known better, to tell me I couldn't use Ms. because I was married. WTF

I always Ms, because one minute you're using Miss not to cause a fuss and next minute they'll take away our vote.
Can't be too vigilant!

I almost invariably tick Ms. and complain if there's not an option. I hate "Miss" so much. It just makes me feel like I'm being treated like a child, like Master vs. Mr. - boys versus men. And then, yeah, the marital status thing, like whatever. Mrs. MySurname = my mum.
Though I will tick it if there's nothing else. It's weird, because we don't ask gender on any of our forms - it never ends up in the database, and I have to extrapolate from Ms/Miss/Mrs vs. Mr. Stupid.
But not having a Ms. option is stupid. Whenever I program forms, I only put in Mr. or Ms. (no Miss or Mrs. options) coz I'm like that. I don't CARE about your marital status.

I tend to go for 'Miss' because I live in hope that someone will sweep me off my feet and make me a 'Mrs' one day. Oh no actually I don't think that at all, but for some reason I haven't really embraced the 'Ms'. I remember when I was at University one of my tutors always just put down 'Liz' (her name) on forms and left off the Ms/Miss/Mrs bit- caused some confusion with little old men in print shops who couldn't understand her 'that's my name, my name is Liz, not Miss or Ms or Mrs Liz' stance.
ps- I found my way here via Lady Lucy or maybe Alice (Boobie to me) or maybe just via myspace/flickr? I used to get the paper AMPzine back in the day. Hello.
