And yet, the new health insurance plan from the company I work for covers chiropractic "care." This can only add to the cost of healthcare while providing no health care.
Did you se this? I am not sure how long it will be available - but it shows health care delivered by chiro's.
I have to point out the obvious to you - you aren't a scientist, and don't have a scientist's training. You are are CPA with a blog page.
If you were scientifically inclined, you would realize that Wikipedia is never, NEVER used as a legitmate reference source. Or, self-proclaimed quckbuster web-pages that obviously have personal biases. Citing these sources is a terrible mistake, and spreads misinformation.
So, please consider only using governmental or professional references (college's, universities, etc) to back up your opinion, and it will be taken far more seriously, and may actually learn how to sift out truth from opinion.
It is utterly misleading for you to state, "Since chiropractors are forbidden by law to prescribe medicines..."
Chiropractors take an oath not to prescribe medicine because we work to cultivate the body's own healing abilities. We see it as an abomination to treat -- as a first course -- with medicines which mask symptoms only, and do not address the cause of dysfunction. The AMA has been offering us limited perscription rights (novocaine, analgesics, etc) for about 10 years now -- and we consistently turn them down.

I am a Chiropractic student at the New Zealand Chiropractic collage.
I would like to point out first of all that at all of the Chiropractic collages that I am aware of there is no promotion or talk of scientology and it is not deeply intreached in our profession.
Secondly as metioned before to prescribe drugs is not our job.
A reson perhaps that no reasearch of our definition of disease is not present in a MEDICAL journal is that we have completly differnt and contradicting phlosophies on health care.
Where the medical doctors want to treat the symptoms and chiropractic doctors veiw the body as more than just a mechanical machine with nuts and bolts that is fixed via a drug. We deal with disease by getting rid of subluxation (nerve interference) which will allow the body to communicate better and relive the disease in a natural way.
In the future could you please get your facts right and not make such bold generalisations.

I am sadden by your radio talk show emotionalism. Perhaps you should read Stephenson's Chiropractic Textbook to eliminate your bias and become more aware of what we chiropractors espouse. Additionally, a bit of compassion might go a long way, to eliminate more your sarcasm.
