Um, as a self-professed language geek, I have to ask...the title of this item ("...teached...") is just a bit of wordplay on your part, right?

The argument that students should be taught "other" explanations doesn't even fly... if that's what Bush really wanted, wouldn't then ALL other 'begining of life' theories have be taught?
It's not about teaching "other" theories... it's about Christianity. Period.
And it totally does not belong in a science class.

Paul Krugman has an interesting article in the NYTimes today (I saw it via BuzzFlash).

Entitled Design for Confusion, he makes an excellent point that all the ID advocates need to do "is create confusion, to make it seem as if there really is a controversy about the validity of evolutionary theory."
Then they have an opening in which to wedge their pseudoscience, which is really just advocacy cloaked in what appears to be legitimate researach.
