Gravatar He is revolting.

Gravatar That really happened??? Holy hell. I thought Chet was making it up as a commentary on Matthew's strange obsession with HRC.

That's just... that...

[Dammit, where'd I put the brain bleach? I know I just had it a few minutes ago...]

Gravatar Yeah, I thought it was Wolfrum-style parody when I came across it at C&L.

Gravatar Well, I don't usually do parody; I'm no good at it.

No, this is for real.

Gravatar Here, Nightshift, use this.

Gravatar I've engaged in uhh shall we say "playful" conversation like that so maybe my sensitivities are off balance but this does seem a little odd.

Gravatar The video at C&L is totally aggravating; Matthews is actually proud of himself for this exchange. "Look at the best part!" Ugh. Shove it, you freak.

Gravatar I love the way she treated him like a little boy and then moved on as if he were a nobody...which he is.

If it isn't obsession Chris, what the hell is it?

Gravatar Personally, I think Hillary handed Tweety a well-deserved and quite incisive smackdown. I love it. She treated him as entirely inconsequential and infantile. The perfect note by which to shut him the hell up.

Still not voting for her, but I applaud her nonetheless for showing Tweety up for the insecure little boy he is.

Gravatar What is wrong with that man? (I know, it's a long list.)

If Bush I & II is a Greek tragedy about hubris and never overcoming a father's legacy, Hillary and Tweety is a weird indie movie about obsession and monomania.

Gravatar Need. shower. now.

Seriously, once one gets over the projectile vomiting (a cardinal sign of a brain injury, by the way), Hillary comes across pretty damn spiffy.

Gravatar Yeah, she treated him as inconsequential and infantile, but he loved it. There's an insight into his pathology in there, but I'm not qualified to say what it means.

So, that happened.

Gravatar It would have been perfect if she'd raised her knee sharply and left him doubled over, gasping for pain, and with the beginnings of a pathetic erection.

Sorry, I was channeling Bill Hicks at the end there.

Gravatar I do agree that he seemed to get off on the humiliation. I noted the beginnings of the same thing when Jon Stewart took him to task over his book. In fact, he seemed to try to steer that conversation into a more personal sort of humiliation at a couple of points, like a guy shifting his hips so that his lover will hit that perfect spot.

Really quite distressing.

Gravatar Nope. Not looking at it. Reading Bill Buckley's Ayn Rand wank fantasy traumatized me enough for one week.

Gravatar Danny,
I'd suggest that a reason it's so odd is because it's so completely out of place and anomalous in its setting. Neither that exchange nor any version of it has ever happened in a formal public setting like that, at least not to my knowledge. It's a little like a preacher ripping a loud fart from the pulpit. It isn't that such things don't happen, but they don't ever happen THERE.

Gravatar I saw him on Hardball last night and he was proud of it. That dude has some serious wimmen issues.

Gravatar I thought it was cool. She basically just called him a silly little kid on national TV, and then belittled him with a condescening mommy gesture/pout.

The little cretin just got his balls cut off and handed to him and he's too dumb to notice.

Gravatar Can you imagine how Matthews would act if she wins? He'll alternate between hating mommy and groveling to her that he'll be a good, good boy.

On national television.

Wearing those short pants the AC/DC guitarist used to wear. And the hat.

(Sorry to all innocent victims of that mental poo grenade. Just had to do something to get back at Jeff for that Buckley porn.)

Gravatar Also, you just HAVE to love the expression on her face in the screen cap at mediabistro. That's one of the happiest and most satisfied looks I've ever seen. She wouldn't be human if that smack down of one of her tormentors didn't feel really good to her.

Gravatar I love these spontaneous Hillary moments. If only her advisors "let Hillary be Hillary", she'd be a lot better off.

Gravatar Now that, my friends, is putting someone in his place.

Gravatar "Reading Bill Buckley's Ayn Rand wank fantasy traumatized me enough for one week."

Oh Thank you for reviving the nightmares! Someone pass that brain bleach.

Gravatar What. The hell. Was that?!?

I so need some Pepto Bismol now.

Gravatar She was brilliant!

I don't want to vote for her, but I want to hang out with her.

Gravatar I honestly thought that this was a joke. I had to watch the video to believe it.

Gravatar Why has this "journalist" not yet been fired? The words "inappropiate" and "unprofessional" seem inedequate. Are the professional standards in the US so vastly different to ours in "Old Europe"?

Gravatar y'all going to tell me that none of this is true, and we're all going to go back to living in a just universe.

/there's no place like home, there's no place like home....

Gravatar I kind of think I'm in love with her now.
It's absolutely incredible the way she's handle the criticism directed at her? For her policies (like Iraq?), her non-answers or deferments earn the ire she gets...but all this flak simply for being a woman? Man, she's really taking it to her detractors now.
