Fortunately you have an option!
A- You can see this as an opportunity to learn some humility. Some straight ahead, whats's-wrong-with-the-my-worldview humility, not some clever wordplay and snarking. Snark is only good as entertainment (that's why we come here). It's not good as a way of life.
B- You can stay home and do your nails. We'll take care of everything. Just make your jokes.
In either case, please don't be an asshole about it... Admit that you're as politcally immoderate as a Baptist in Lynchburg, and try to muster some respect for the hive mind.
Politics aside, Opuh's comment was probably snarkier than the post to which he'she referred. Also, 'snarky' is a really annoying word.
3.6 million more people out of a country of 300+ million is hardly enough to make me start questioning my world view, sport.

First, nothing will teach me humilty. Certainly not this election. If anything, it reassures me that my intelligence is even greater and more unique than I previously thought.
Second, to echo Mr. Diener, please don't use the term "snark" here ever. If you feel that you must, go read Bookslut or The Believer.
Third, I never claimed to be politically moderate. Sexy? Yes. Well-endowed? Fuck yes. Moderate? No.
And finally, don't think your little Kristallnacht crack will go unnoticed. Don't be selling your anti-Semitism here, Adolph, 'cause I ain't buyin'.

Opuh, you sadden me. I can forgive rednecks & Bible thumpers for voting Bush, but the educated people who supply him with logical rationale where in reality there is none are perhaps the most dangerous Bush supporters. They will be the ones making excuses for him when, in the name of the "war on terror" Muslim-Americans are placed in confinement in greater numbers than they already are. You claim we won't be marching around in uniforms, but if Bush said it would help us defeat the evildoers, 51% of this country would fall right into line. Fuck.

Its not like supporters of the party that is dominating all three branches of our government, of the president who stole his first four years, effed up the economy, ruined our international credibility, took us into a preemptive war in which our military has tortured prisoners with a totally false justification, and then was reelected largely on the basis of "moral issues", which sounds disturbingly like religious conviction to me, . . I mean its not like these people, in the wake of their victory, are already narrow-mindedly attacking supporters of the defeated party with snide comments based on biased assumptions about personalities that do nothing to address political issues. No, that is ridiculous.
Now lets all take some valium and remember that we were sipping mocha's while our valiant soldiers were guaranteeing us that right by protecting us from terrorism.

Now now, chilluns. I appreciate you all leaping to my defense, but I do, I think, understand Opuh's point: Not all Bush supporters are fools. It's true, and I'll admit it.
Here's a touching truth: I count a very close friend, the Krupke above, as among the non-foolish Bush supporters. He's rational, intelligent, loyal, and trustworthy. I emailed him this morning with congratulations and to say I hope that he's right about all this.
But please, Opuh, don't give us the "if you think it's bad here, you should see Iran" argument. I don't think that being the best of a bad lot should be our goal. I feel that so strongly, in fact, that I'm about to post about it. Stay tuned breath held, America!
