Nevertheless, thanks for showing concern LupinTan. I was merely sharing my experiences. Furthermore, my words are distorted way too much in some blogs. I can't go around telling them where they have gotten me wrong.

Cheesecakeeian : Hi there fellow blogger frm across! Well, of coz..it's just some do that. The majority are not at fault. But sadly some are having a prob understanding this thou. Ppl basically bully and stuff like tt, becoz of their own insecurity. They need to condemn someone in order to feel better. So there, like you said, at the end of the day, we can only feel sorry for them.
P.s..you look really pretty!! Nice blog as well..

Miss Thugchic, before I carry on, I would like you to take a look at this.
SEDITION ACT
(Chapter 290)
Seditious tendency.
3. —(1) A seditious tendency is a tendency —
(d) to raise discontent or disaffection amongst the citizens of Singapore or the residents in Singapore;
(e) to promote feelings of ill-will and hostility between different races or classes of the population of Singapore.
This act was brought up by BlinkyMummy in regards to XX's entry on Aerosol Spray @ the beginning of the year.

said.html
Please also note that at least 3 bloggers had been charge under this law. I hope you would be cautious and mindful of what you are writing.
BTW, angmoh means Red-haired in Hokkien.
Why are you so mindful of what the word means in the first place. Yes I agree it's jibberish. Most probably it been distorted from some meaning so that a five year old boy will understand.
Does a jibberish word that been associated with any race consider degoratory in the first place?
And if it's degoratory, doesn't any form of degoratory is still degoratory.
What you are promoting are more dis-harmony between our society than unity.
I just feel that the approach and methods you used to get other race to understand yours is toally wrong.

I know how you feel.. I was a victim of racism as well in high school, cos it was a chinese environment.. Just cos I'm dark? And I'm half chinese too. Not all of them are like that tho. Now that high school is over and I live in he REAL world, I actually pity them because they are so narrow minded.

LupinTan : Well, name calling. We are all gulity as charged. No qus asked.
But let me ask u a qus back? Does any other race suffer as much rasim as the Indians in S'pore? True, we call a caucasian Angmo. I believe angmo is referring to the skin color? But what does ahpunehneh mean? Skin color? My race? What does it mean?
To be called gibberish that is used to identify with ur race is far worse.
But of coz, racism in any form is still racism.

To everyone:
Just one very simple question. Are you guys/gals guilty of calling other races names
for example, calling caucasian "Ang Moh".
If yes, then you have no bloody rite to say anything.
And yes, I'm guilty on both count. So I don't feel offended on peoples call me names. BTW, I is chinese.

Ah! Have to love you for this post.
I have grown tired of laughing politely whenever someone makes an Indian "joke". I think it's time I stopped giving weak laughs and started pointing out how stupid people really are.
Anyway, thank you again for this post. I'll definately have to link this post to my site.

To hell with being multiracial... there's always this grudge within every race here in singapore. It's a never ending chapter... for one, I've got indian friends hating the chinese, malay friends teasing the indians... as for the chinese... needless to say, you've put it well.
Well, to round this thing up... i'll proudly say, I loathe this country for the only fact that is ruled by the chinese. I might be wrong/whatever... but like i care for what one thinks.
Ps: That was worth my one cent only. Enjoy the rest of the week, thugy.
Pps: a very good one by you.

Burgersandurians : First of all, wat a name! Hahaha, i am not strong enuff to stomach burgers n durians at the same go. Honey, in this place, most of them have a major problem differentiating between malays n indians. And a even bigger one between indian muslims and indians. Lost count of the number of times i got asked if i can only take halal food. To most of them, as long as u r brown, u belong to one grp. Anyway, someone had to say it sooner or later. Thanks for dropping by BnD!!

Love ya, love ya, love ya for posting this! I'm North Indian, so definitely recognize my privilege in being less dark, although still brown, which probably immunises me from the worst of racist bullshit that somehow claims that brown is ugly/undesirable/dirty and everything in between. But i've been called Ahpuneneh too...obviously there are those out there who can't even understand the diversity of Indians/South Asians.
Anyway, thanks for giving voice to the marginalized voices of ethnic minority Indians in Singapore.

Cathy : Hi Cathy! Hey come on, if i mind that u leave a comment on my blog for the sole reason that u are chinese, wldnt that count as racism as well. I have nothing against you . Like i said, 90% of my friends are chinese. So i have nothing against the race itself. Just the things some of them do in the name of racsim. Anyway, thanks for dropping by Cathy!

Cookie : finally i smell a cookie here! Now now, just becoz they resort to name calling us, we shldn't do the same. Then there's no difference between them and us. But i understand under what situation you wrote it under. Hope to see you more ard here pandi...
Vani : Hats off for apprehending the mom. But most will give the look as if we are at fault for bringing the topic to her face. Like what the hell. The key digusting point in any racist situtation is how the person who does the racist act thinks he is superior than the person who is at the receiving end of the racist act. Just because your race outnumbers the rest doesn't put you in superior post. In fact, nothing will. Because apart frm skin color and culture difference, nothing else differs.

hey, unfortunately i have many incidents under my belt for this one. but one stands out fresh in my memory. there was once when we going on some tour somewhere, and there was a chinese family in the bus. mum and kids. so a huge group of us, all indians boarded the bus, only to have one of the kids say something about there being too many "ahpunehnehs" on the bus. i took the liberty to apprehend the mum on her upbringing. i grew up listening to parents TEACHING their kids to call us that. i suppose that was the breaking point. oh, btw, that was a gd breakdown of the word. multicultural, globalised or whatever else there is, racism would prevail. its about how well one TOLERATES it. tolerate- its such an insensitive word, like i don't approve of you, but i'll tolerate. even here in aus, i've been called a "black pig". and guess what? aus is MULTICULTURAL as well. a very well written entry. but not all Chinese are like that, that's for sure.
