Gravatar Okay, I haven't actually checked out your script yet, but I've had a lot of success with the script outlined here:
http://panthersoftware.com/artic...-git- submodules
And on GitHub here:
http://github.com/nazar/git-rail...-rails-plugins/

It updates from the source SVN properly, but best of all, it pushes any changes back to the source SVN too -- something that normal SVN externals don't do (AFAIK). Now I can make changes to my externaled plugins and push back to them, rather than having to change the plugin and update the externaled version.

Gravatar That looks like it's Rails-specific; I'm using svn:externals outside of Rails. Also, the link you posted was about three pages of explanations, as opposed to the script I posted, which is, what, 20 lines? As I said, cheap'n'cheery :).

Gravatar Yup, it is minorly tied to Rails, but I don't think that'd be especially hard to change.

I'll check out your script though as well.
