Given an experience such as yours, I now wonder what Calculus AB Honors is going to be like next year, given that I haven't taken (and was recommended not to take) a precalc course.

With a little luck, a good instructor, and less-draconian curriculum, your experience might not be as bad as mine even without the benefit of a precalc course. I'm sure it won't be easy, though. Good luck!
