The Andrew Turnbull Family of Fine Websites

Write up your resume to show all of your skills, experience, and education to their best advantage. Look for jobs within one or two hours of Athens. Apply for every job you find that looks like something you could do, with or without training; apply for all jobs that are looking for one or more of your skills. Some people apply for a hundred jobs before they get one; I knew someone recently like that--by the way, he was an excellent employee. It was just that he was starting out as a professional. After he got his first job he became much more attractive to employers and quickly found something else more to his liking. You also might want to check out some books on resume-writing and career planning. This is an exciting time for you. Figure out your strengths and believe in yourself.

By the way, twice in my life people have advised me to look for any old low-level job because they thought I was over-reaching. They were wrong. The easiest job to get is the one that matches your personality and skills the best, not the one that pays the least.

Don't wait for inspiration--job-hunting is a learning process. Just start and your goals and dreams will gradually become clearer. You have a lot to give to any employer smart enough to interview and hire you. Good luck!
