But then, T. Blair jointed the party he thought would get him elected, not the party he agreed with. And anyone protesting against Tony's word will be denigrated. This is Gordon Brown's tragedy - he's still in the party he thinks he believes in sometimes - but it's changed beyond recognition - and his orator's skills promote a party that is now fading out of existence. And no, I don't think Gordon is a lost saviour - that's why I wrote 'sometimes'. Too many Labour (as opposed to New Labour) think Gordon is the answer - DREAM ON!

Just want to interject something for those of us who followed the deMenezes shooting - apparently the family, or certain members, have seen the surveillance videotape which included both the pre-shooting behavior of deMenezes and the shooting itself (?). At any rate, this is a very rapid sequence of events - being able to tell it was not as police said, and an innocent man, even one not acting in any way suspiciously, and finally to have the family see it confirmed. Compare this to the slow 9/11 commission and to the time it took to hear partial tapes of a hijacking. Beware of a government which tries to "protect loved ones" from raw footage. Or to suppress certain Abu Ghraib tapes. Tyranny never shrinks from the crimes, only from their revelation. They fear our reaction if uncontrolled by them.
