It's very interesting to look at how this Clark & Levy story works. I don't think the phrase "limited hangout" is really appropriate at all but I used it above to make the most important point, which is that this book is 90% truth and 10% lies, the truth being sufficiently discreditable to the US government in particular that it seems startlingly and disarmingly convincing.
The lies appear with increasing frequency and with elaborations as the book progresses towards the present day, both because the reader is assumed to have been softened up and because inherently the more recent facts are more uncertain.

Just finished watching Bowling for Columbine, and that movie kinda answers the questions on America's lust for wars on a wholesale basis. I like how Mike puts in the names of dictators and American funded civil wars that the United States government always enjoys creating. Almost as much as you love overthrowing them later-on. You have a routine problem with slave and masters. Only when the slaves aren't pleasing America, you make everybody suffer. hey, moomkoon. I watched a docu around the mid 90's on the oilmen from Texas. People with the knowhow and equipment that were contracted to put out the oil fires in Iraq. Mike James' article seems a bit tainted with his wishful thinking, yet there is something in Germany which is called "Stammtisch" or the "regulars' table," and this institution could not be entirely destroyed by the "state pedagogy" and secret police.
Germans in the last 60 years have learned that a wrong word may mean your livelihood destroyed, or your being shipped off to Vorkuta to end your days freezing or being worked to death. That is why to belong to a "Stammtisch", where real politics is discussed, you basically must be born into it. Germans know better, and that is why I think James's account is a bit 'imaginative'.
On the other hand, he said a fundamental truth, and that is that both the Federal Republic of Germany and Israel share in the same founding myths, i.e., Holocaustianity. If there are two state apparatuses that can only exist insofar as WWII propaganda is alive and well, these are the two. They are unfortunately joined at the hip, and bar a major bouleversement in the US, the Metropolitan Power, things will remain unchanged in the provinces.
