This is neat:
BERLIN (Reuters) - A U.S. soldier stationed in southern Germany was shot dead by police after threatening an ex-girlfriend and then going on the run armed with an assault rifle, authorities said on Friday. The 30-year old, who was serving in the 2nd, "Dagger," brigade of the U.S. 1st Infantry Division, broke into the woman's house late on Thursday, threatened her and tied her up, police in the Bavarian region of Unterfranken said. She was able to free herself and alerted the police, who began a search using a commando unit and a helicopter equipped with thermal imaging equipment. Officers found the soldier several hundred meters from the woman's house and tried to arrest him but he threatened them with the semi-automatic rifle and was shot, police said. He died in hospital early on Friday, according to a statement from the "Dagger" Brigade Chain of Command. "The Dagger Brigade along with the United States Army Europe takes incidents of this nature extremely seriously and will continue to work with the German authorities to maintain community safety," the statement said. The name of the soldier was being withheld until his next of kin had been informed, it added. German police said there was no indication that officers had acted illegally and prosecutors were not planning to open an investigation into the marksmen. "The officers had to assume that the suspect was going to fire on them with the weapon," a police statement said.

poiyutr at iraqwar.ru not too impressed to hear about the USAian woman who sat on the crapper continuously for two years while her 'boyfriend' brought her food:
What are they doing to the baboons? I mean, really, what is it?
The US is the, by far, the most cretinous nation on earth. That alone cannot be accident. And they, by far, are the most hideous grotesque monstrosities on earth. Nothing is as ugly. That's her belly there....yes, hanging from under the sleeping bag size garment twixt her fucking knees. It's fucking unreal. But in the US, this is sort of NORM. Routinely, I sit on a plane with at least 3 other this fat, taking up 2 seats. NO KIDDING! Spilling over into the aisle and the poor gays pushing the peanut trolley actually push these obese things back into their seat to get by them. I'm not god damn making this up. It's a sight out of this world and yet there it is. When you land in the US, instantly total and unabashed stupidity jumps at you from everywhere. People there sit around a huge muthafukking plasma screen watching commercials stretched cuz the signal isn't somehow calibrated. So they stretch the picture. And then it's CNN barfing their endless pro-US shit. And people are watching it. Their faces are vacant though but their eyes flit about the large distorted screen. Most have mp3 boxes plugged into their heads as well. It's a total zoo. It's like Dr Morreau island, the US. Someone's doing experiments there on them. 911, killed 3000 of them for fun. Experiment. And the criminals got paid for it at that. Silversteen got 2B or something like that for bringing the tower down killing people. It's that unreal! And yanks just don't fucking care. They killed 3500 in New Orleans. They had fascist troops with guns blocking the exit ways from the drowning cesspool. Fleeing people were forced to return and forced into the makeshift camp. 3500 were killed. The US didn't care. Still doesn't! They just don't fucking care about anything. They don't know what planet they're on. And their obesity can't be from laziness. This is a striking disease in the US. Recently, news appeared: chemtrails proven with barium spraying. And AP did news on US water showing sex hormones, sedative drugs like lithium and so on. They sell in the US aspertame, known to eat brains and illegal for pilots to drink before they fly. And the yank baboons are eating this. The US and now arguably the entire EU camp are no more than just experiment places for the fascist vatican NWO zionist elite. But the most visible scars bears the US of Aces, like this poor chick lugging her 100kg belly around. The US is the most unsightly cesspit ever in history of mankind and I have not forgotten about the perverted britzie shit eaters and the truly ugly german yodling fritzes.

I saw a comment on a washington post thread that claimed that one of the effects of oil reaching $200 a barrel will be to equalise the costs of manufacturing industries between the US and China, in such a way as to make US manufactures competitive with China's again. I don't think I see the logic to this, does anyone?

not unless equal slave labor rates are paid in both countries, one should think.
The other factor would be the high cost of transport from further away. Local economies with reduced transport costs should benefit from high fuel prices. This would apply to local fruit & veg production in particular, which the chinese probably don't compete with anyway.
But the devaluation of the USD can offer some competitive pricing for a while, both in the export field and the domestic market. Boeing can give a good deal compared with Airbus, and imported cars should be pricey compared with US brands.

--Rachel Corrie, about 11 years old
As their plane touches down in Tel Aviv this week, Cindy and Craig Corrie will mark five years since their daughter's death. On March 16, 2003, Rachel Corrie, 23, was crushed to death beneath an armored Israeli bulldozer. The Corries are a short distance from Gaza, where Rachel was killed, and where in the past few weeks, an Israeli military incursion killed over 100 Palestinians, including many women and children.
This week, the Corries come to Israel to attend the first Arabic-language performance of the acclaimed one-woman play, My Name is Rachel Corrie.

sort of - if the labour cost differential is neutralized by high transportation costs or if the petrochemical components account for most of the price of gadgets.
Even more, if Amerika can squeeze the market by utilizing the stolen Iraqi oil as a weapon, which they woulda if the coulda.

Buffeted by criticism of his controversial Christian pastor while continuing to quell rumors that he is a Muslim, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill) took a bold step today to settle questions about his religious faith once and for all. "I am converting to Judaism, effective immediately," Mr. Obama told reporters at a press conference in Scarsdale, New York, adding that he would change his middle name from "Hussein" to "Murray." As a sign of commitment to his new faith, the Illinois Senator said that he anticipated being Bar Mitzvahed sometime between now and the crucial Pennsylvania primary and that he would no longer campaign on Saturdays. In a subtle sign of the shift in his religious affiliation, Mr. Obama's signature catchphrase "Yes, we can," was nowhere to be found in his speech, replaced instead by "L'Chaim." While some political observers praised Mr. Obama's conversion to Judaism as a shrewd tactic to put the issue of his religious identity to rest, the move raised the ire of one of his harshest critics, former Rep. Geradline Ferraro. "Barack Murray Obama wouldn't be in the position he's in if he wasn't Jewish," said Ms. Ferraro to herself.

Scores of people, including US military staff, are feared to have died after a Soviet-era munitions dump exploded at an Albanian army base yesterday. The blast injured more than 240 people, including many children – and the country's Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, said he believed the death toll could be considerable. The initial blast at the depot at Gerdec village, about six miles north of the capital, Tirana, set off a series of explosions, and ammunition continued to detonate for hours. The blast was felt 12 miles away and was heard at a distance of more than 30 miles. Many of the injured are civilians hurt by the enormous shockwaves that hit nearby villages and cars passing by on a nearby highway. Terrorism is not suspected.

Hundreds of Serbs smashed down gates at two United Nations-run courthouses in northern Kosovo yesterday and stormed the buildings, AFP reports. The mob, opposed to Kosovo's independence, hauled down the UN flag and hoisted the Serbian one. They clashed with UN police, pelting them with rocks and metal objects. NATO's secretary-general condemned the violence as an unacceptable provocation. The Serb militants said they wanted to set up their own court for Kosovo's Serbs. The chief of the UN's Kosovo mission said police had been ordered "to restore law and order" and "ensure that the court house is again under UN control," while Kosovo's ethnic Albanian leaders urged the UN to "pull the hooligans out of the building." The court buildings have been a focus for Serb protests since Kosovo declared independence last month.

In A Shocking Development... Morgan To Buy Stearns
http://disobedia.blogspot.com/20...-

JPMorgan says to buy Bear Stearns for $2 a share (sic)
This is exactly how the banksters make their fortunes expand over the years - they cause massive financial "crises," then buy up the most affected banks, insurance houses, and other corporations for pennies on the dollar.
That the SEC won't investigate this and other similar events shows their implicit involvement in these schemes.
What really burns my behind is that these corporations and their founders & CEOs are sold to us as "paragons of free-market capitalism," when in fact, they are communists - the biggest, baddest commies around!....

Ken, all that Kerry Bolton article manages to prove - at least, given the Anthony Sutton quotations he actually brings - is that TROTSKY was working for the western bankers - not 'marxists in general'

I always interpreted Spengler on the subject as commentary involving elitism and decadence of a formerly culture-bearing elite being prime determinants of history rather than rabble being capable of apotheosizing itself on its own.

i don't see any relationship between marxism and the apotheosis of the rabble - the phrase is a mechanical product of right wing rhetoric.

however, returning to reality, I would be prepared to consider the possibility that there are recurrent relationships between marxists and bankers, but that these relationships are always attempts at mutual exploitation, rather than coincidences of aims. After all, this idea of using another class to slingshot oneself into power is a fairly well known one that goes back to marx himself, it isn't an invention of lenin.

I think there are two different defective forms of marxism confused here. One is the fabian form, which treats marxism as a theory of economic organisation to be implemented by an omnipotent administration. The other is an excessively humanistic form which devotes itself to bourgeois thought control. This latter is really a quite recent phenomenon in my view, and results from the specific effect of FEMINISM in derailing the discourses of the economic and social classes and confusing them.

But anyway, the evidence in the ideological literature and in what is more or less established regarding the historical facts, dealing with the russian revolution, the role of trostkyism, the decay of stalinism, and the rise of zionism, it's all on peter myers' site in considerable detail, so that people can determine for themselves what is provable and what is mere fantasy.

ja, ja, often the "progressive" are most adapted to the main opinion without thinking for themselves, perhaps.
At the present time the financial capitalist groups are ruining the middle class, the more autonomous people, everywhere in the West. The communists mostly did not allow autonomous people either and most regimes worked nicely together with international banks. State capitalism is the word for next all communist regimes, besides their other destructive activities.
