Obama has yet to prove himself as a viable candidate and not a tool of meddling by the GOP in the politics of the Democratic party. Think this way. How do you win? You win by controlling whom you run against. Obama gathers some support from the educated whimsical whites (although many of them voted for him in the primaries out of spite for Hillary) and defeats Edwards and Hillary. But he also drives away the so-called Jewish vote (because he was a Muslim and some believe he may still be) and the so-called Mexican vote (because he is black and Mexican immigrants as a rule have not had a good experience with the black community). When the neo-cons joined the GOP, the prevalent majority of Jewish community remained with the Democratic Party. Obama will surely push them in large numbers to the Republicans.
In a race of McCain against Obama, Obama does not stand a chance. Obama lacks experience (community organizer – give me a break), has suspect roots (Black nationalists-racists, Muslim, African anti-imperialist – read anti-American) and offers no viable alternative to the present neo-con course. Can he sing his way out of this one? Maybe not. He exhibited short temper when questioned about his connections with that Rizko individual. When he becomes the candidate, the media’s velvet gloves will come off. Get ready for another decade of the GOP rule.
And BTW, the way things go and with 4 more years of war and economic debacle, who knows if there will be elections in 2012.

Re the US elections. I've been following how CNN International and BBC treat Obama's preacher story.
CNN has exlusively ephasized the racial angle. No mention of the 9-11 episode at all. Just race.
