This pathetic little Bush publicity stunt is just more evidence, if any were needed. that the attack on Iraq wasn’t, and could not possibly have been, about oil or any other Iraqi resources.
Let's assume you are correct, Xymph, and Iraq was destroyed solely as part of the grand Zionist illusion of an Israel extending from the Nile to the Euphrates (which is about as likely as an attack by an Israeli and/or American Gay Mardi Gras Army, on Iran).
It will still be necessary to deprive Iraqis of benefit from their oil reserves. If this isn't done then Iraq can finance the reinvention of itself as a leaner and meaner nation. Imo if the Americans and Israelis aren't already stealing Iraq's oil then the only other 'practical' solution to the dilemna of Iraq's re-emergence is to complete the genocide - after which they'll be free to help themselves to the oil anyway.
It's about the oil. Any explanation for the war which seeks to exclude oil as a motive must explain how Iraqis will be deprived of its value, to guarantee Zion's "future security", and by what mechanism that will be achieved.

Business likes security, they like to be able to plan for the next quarter. So I agree with 5ds that the oil companies have benefited in the same way the undertakers have.
But the war was about Oil the commodity. Israel wants to be the distributor of ME oil. The precedent for this is that the Rothschilds did very well at the turn of the last century distributing the Baku oil of Turkey. Oil's value is to the consumer. Israel wants to be the bottle neck for that distribution. They floated an article like this a couple of months ago.
