Here's another scenario: Ron Paul who is the only other Republican still in the race, beats McCain at the Republican convention at Minneapolis in September.

This campaign strategy is premised on the Romney & Huckabee delegates refusing to back McCain on the grounds that they loathe & detest the man, and so migrate to Paul. Many of them are actually Paul supporters who won delegate status in their various precincts and were pledged to the other local winners that have since dropped out. No one knows how Minneapolis will turn out at this stage.

Although Paul & McCain are the same age, Paul is in better physical & mental shape than McCain, who some suggest is in early Alzheimer's dementia.

After that, Paul has to beat the Democrat nominee, and truth be told, the Dem turnout will probably exceed the Rep turnout 3 to 1.

This race is for the Democrats to lose, meaning, they're meant to win.

That said, Xym., I doubt that Hillary would defect to the Republicans, even to run as McCain's VP. Joe Lieberman, having tried with Gore in 2000, acts as if he has first dibs at VP with McCain.

If you're floating a McCain-Hillary ticket, Xym., how about Hillary-Lieberman for the Republicans, if they don't get the Democrat nod?

Gravatar McCain-Lieberman is a terrifying thought.

Gravatar Quote of the year!

When I think about Obama, I think about the Roman Empire, how the Romans, when the empire was on the decline, chose some of the assimilated bright ones from amongst the barbarians to help save it. People who had been formerly cast as barbarians: Germans.
http://goatmilk.wordpress.com/20...ockout-punches/

Gravatar well, it makes more sense if you include the next paragraph too:

So, there might be an accommodation. They might want to enlist the bright ones from among what they consider to be the American barbarian population- people like Gates and Obama to save the empire. But the racist attitudes of some elements in the White working class, and these White trash gangsters Ma and Pa Clinton are getting in the way. Because they can’t fight ‘em all. They can’t fight all Blacks in this country, they can’t fight Mexican Americans – they’re more worried about them then they are worried about us because their birth rates are going through the roof and about to overtake both the Black and White populations. They can’t fight what they call Islamo-fascists. So, there has to be an accommodation, some kind of deal made. Obama is the ticket, but these ignorant fools led by people like Rush Limbaugh can’t see a good thing when it’s right there in front of their eyes...

Gravatar In Missisippi, apparently, you can have the two races attending the same school in equal numbers, and glowering at each other all day without ever exchanging a word. This was amusingly described to me by a Chinese guy who was the only outsider there.

Gravatar Obama is in. The white working class boys I know can't stand Hillary and they think McCain is crazy.

Smek, how old was the chinese guy?

Gravatar Uh, I think McCain is going to have a hard enough time appealing to the Republican base as it is without Hillary as a running mate, so I doubt he'd want much to do with her, even if she wanted to run with him, which I also doubt. Your theory that she'd want Obama to lose so she could take another shot at the nomination in 2012 is more likely.

Gravatar Laurie | 03.13.08 - 7:08 am |

Why do you support Obama?

Gravatar There's an interesting piece here about McCain's problems with the so-called christian right:
http://www.motherjones.com/washi...tual- guide.html

Mother Jones is a very New York Jewish organ (despite its name) but I completely agree with the analysis in th earticle, which is that McCain is frightened of people like Hagee.

Gravatar I've always anticipated McCain-Lieberman, but McCain-Bloomberg is starting to look like a possibility.

All this theorizing is superfluous, both Hillary and Obama are unelectable, Hillary somewhat more so.

Gravatar Yep it's too crazy.

There are too many blue people who would never vote red. A Black and white choice is rhetoric. Gray is a figment of the imagination.

It all shakes down to a red or a blue vote, and as of now there is a bigger blue popular vote.

It's showtime for Hillary. Now or never on the blue ticket.

What might not be "too crazy" as improbable as it looks at the moment is an Obama/Clinton ticket.

aaarrgg! That would make the fat lady sing.

Gravatar Born about 1982.

Gravatar OK, now, why should McCain be frightened of people like Hagee? Why should he prefer the completely wimpish Parsley?

It can only be because Hagee is considered liable to go off into "anti-Semitic rants" at the drop of a hat, and Parsley, not.

Gravatar What makes this super interesting is that they are still dependent on Hagee in that he created CUFI, by using the "anti-Semitic rants".

Gravatar Obama-Clinton could be a replay of Kennedy-Johnson. We know how that ended. An ambitious, greedy, resentful VP is an occupational hazard to an ambitious Prez.

When the Prez is a lazy hack, Cheney redefined the VP role. Could Clinton play Cheney to Obama's Bush? Depends how ambitious & hardworking Obama is. He would have to out do Bush, just on the law of averages.

Hmmm, Clinton could be an occupational hazard if Obama insists on total executive control.

Gravatar All assumptions being moot if Bush bombs Iran..

Gravatar Anonymous | 03.13.08 - 7:58 am - Because I think he still has a conscious and the other ones don't.

There are whites that will vote against him only because he's black but there are probably not as many of them as there are blacks who will vote for him only because he's black. In Obamas's favor are: 1) all those people that by voting for him will prove to themselves they are not racist. 2) all those people voting against Hillary. 3) all those people voting against the war. 4) all those people voting out white control and if Hillary or McCain run will a jew 5) all those people who support Palestine and don't fall into any of the other 4 categories. I don't think anti-semitism would be much of a factor at all.

Gravatar Why Hillary will not be President
http://upload.wikimedia.org/ wiki...laryandsuha.jpg

Those who read Walt & Mearsheimer (The Israel Lobby) will recall the paragraph on Hillary Clinton and the Lobby, where the Lobby never forgot the kiss.

Gravatar Taxes, why do you think Obama isn't electable?

Gravatar I don't agree that hillary's kiss of suha arafat is a no-no for 'the jews' (by which we can all agree to mean here the power brokers). hillary has been 'an errant lamb restored to the fold' for a couple of years, as could have been detected from a spate of extraordinarily gushing articles in the JPost at the time. You know how much 'they' like to exploit sentimentality, and guilt too.

Gravatar I still see (in my crystal ball) the Bonesmen putting Obama in his "proper place" under Clinton on the ticket. They will promise him the moon... (or maybe Mars) if he will take the VP and they will commit to help him change the world in 4-8 years. (what is left of it)

Carefully word the promise so it goes something like... Hillary will not seek re-election in 2012 IF her approval ratings are below... say 49%.

Otherwise things get bloody.

Gravatar Rowan Berkeley | Homepage | 03.13.08 - 11:26 am |

I disagree. She is in a disparate situation and it is not only about the kiss, but also Bill Clinton refused to go war in Iraq, so they can't trust her 100%.

That is way her only option left is racist slur campaign.

Gravatar "why"

Gravatar there is another explanation for the racist slur campaign, namely, that her instructions are to ruin the entire democratic party presidential campaign and throw the election.

Gravatar why do you say bill clinton refused to go to war with iraq? refused whom?

Gravatar She is still married to Bill, "I'll grab a rifle and jump into a foxhole to defend Israel with my life," Clinton and that must count for something.

Gravatar I doubt there is any question that the Lobby would rather have Hillary as their expensive call girl.

Gravatar I would question that they want her as a call girl. I think they want her as a mediatic presence (not necessarily president or vice president - mccain and lieberman would get them directly to heaven with massive force).

Gravatar They had no luck to sell clean break report. The only offer Bill Clinton could give them was no flight zones in Iraq.

Can't cite from the book (The Israel Lobby)since I don't have it with me.

Gravatar But "going direct" is an unrealistic long range expectation. In the meantime...

Gravatar ... or meanwhile, back a the chicken ranch.

Gravatar ok, anonymous, i knew you meant 'the neocons' or some rather convenient abstraction like that. You see, the problem with creating any sort of generalised abstract entity at all is that it becomes so much easier to make tendentious statements about it - you don't have to say "Mr. X asked Clinton to attack Iraq and he said no." I do have the Walt & Mearsheimer book, and I have read it, but I don't recall any useful names and dates for this.

Gravatar Yes, you were right "the neocons",

but as the book says, the Lobby did not opposed the war.
ok, I shall say no more until I get the exact pages on Hillary's kiss and Bill Clinton's refusal.

Gravatar I agree that an element in the sentimental embrace of Hillary by the JPost and its pundits was to punish bill (not that they give a damn about marital ethics, it is just useful schmalz).

Gravatar equally, I suppose, the question of whether they 'trust' hillary or not is a non-question really, just another narrative sub-plot in the never ending soap opera.

Gravatar The tendency to form superficial and reactionary impressions after watching "The Century Of The Self" is clearly alive and well :

The international bankers wanted to grab the USA Central Bank since Independence Day. By early 1900’s the bankers thought it was their time; their prelude was a recession that they artificially created in 1905. On one side the media establishment bombarded the masses with the notion that government was not efficient and experienced enough for the administration of the economy and finance of the country. They claimed that some banks were going belly up and people were losing their savings, etc. The bankers and corporations were using the media as PR to manipulate the masses abusing FREUD’S PSYCHOANALYSIS THEORY by creating insecurity and economic fears. The concept of women liberation was limited to smoke in public; excluded were the fundamental rights to education and vote. People’s personality and character was supposed to be reflected in their taste, photogenic postures, the use of luxurious cars and sexy women around; their intellectual and education achievements did not count and USA ended up with some donkeys as presidents. On the other hand the international bankers like Rockefeller funded $5 MILLIONS for “academics research” in the areas of better government and banking efficiencies...

McCain/Hillary ticket gains ground, campaign button available (link)

Gravatar The racial eruptions coming from Democrats are a result of their anger and disbelief that 100% of their "faithful" black companions have jumped ship to support an obviously underqualified black candidate. Everyone knows that Ferrarro's comments are true and she speaks from pure anger and frustration, no conspiracy required to explain it. What happened to that wonderful colorblind society we built over the last 50 years she's thinking. What about us womyn? How could you diss us so completely after all we've done for blacks. Talk about white supremecy. Sheesh.

The Clinton camp is dumbfounded by the racial solidarity of blacks and the hordes of whites rushing to vote for a black man so they can prove they aren't racist. Anyone who has an honest assessment of race in the US is not surprise at all at this, to see their "race doesn't exist anymore" myth implode in their face. The only persons who have been successfully deracinated are whites, and watching them swoon over an articulate black man is pure slapstick.

To say that whites will be disillusioned by an Obama is an understatement. They can finally say to themselves their country is NOT racist. And they may finally discover that their concessions mean nothing to blacks, who will continue to wage a racial cold war against whites, continue to blame whites for their failing, continue to demand more transfer of largess from whites to blacks, ongoing ad naseum, until yes, like our other "friends", they will go too far and provoke a natural reaction among whites.

A few more elections cycles and America may be ready for a candidate that appeals directly to white racial interests. Much more pain, suffering and abuse are required though and that's exactly what's on the menu in the post-modern west. Interesting times indeed.

Gravatar Xymphora--I'm some nut--correct answer. Mucho gracias--they're screwed for it. That was Israel (out of Germany), the pussies. See what I mean about 'that's all they have? Mossad is nothing but a bunch of kids with pushbrooms doing public service and little more than that. George Bush senior (God bless him) set 'em that way and that's the way they're kept. Those weren't big dogs, couldn't be.

What they want to know is this "Minotaur" su[pposed phenomenon(it's weird, including the name which is so miscelaneous), it's more or less a system or whatever. See it's an identifier, the people hit are made sick and when "oot and aboot" they are easy to tag being that they have all the lax smoked symptoms right there front and center. They are picked up and questioned with little fight and so on and so on. I have three to five "splitters" working on call all the time, 24 hours a day--and there's the mystery.

I give you the mark of the beast and "they" (not talking) finish up the job by making the capture. "They" take you (not you ofcourse--the marked person themselves). These people deserve it 100% and more importantly we don't hit anyone but killers and the worst killers, child killers, eaters, corporate killers, mengela surgeons in foreign countries, human leather people, Fake Red Cross people, death camp workers and junkie weirdos so strange and perverted you wish they were dead and off this blue marble entirely. These people are the enforcers of a whacko anti-business system so bloody horrible it's a thousand nightmares each of them with the things they've done to people for nothing. This is the only way to take them out--you can't have standard warfare, it just wouldn't work. That's the mystery and we are not done.

"We" (umm sort of speaking hypothetically here) can shuffle cards so crazy they stay shuffled forever. The soviets are concerned and we don't care about them, do as thou wilst--who gives a fuck, I want those evil sicko shits I'm looking for off the globe. Can you imagine killing an innocent infant or kid in front of someone to silence them or for the purpose of taking their company or whatever? See what I mean? Those are the types I want not communists in the theoretical sense per se or for that matter honey bees deliberating the UN or something.

We do what we do by a simple protocol, we, we being "splitters" get rid of the worst must haneous things you can imagine existing--and they do, that's it--all to make a friendlier globe hopefully. You cannot go out and kill entire nations of peaceful civilians, erasing generations of civil populations indigenous to their countries just because you want something political to surface and need a population out of the way to do it--whatever that might be. I want you eating shit in a tank and that's it.

So there's the mystery and I'm just some nut--fan-fuckin-tastic. And quit this whole "minotaur" thing, it's trite. Replace the word "Minotaur" w

Gravatar ...REPLACE THE WORD "MINOTAUR" WITH "NORVILLE". Sorry my last sentence in the paragraph got cut off.

As for Paul getting up, well, who knows. This economic meltdown coming down the pike is going to change the scenery quite a bit, and it is Paul's special interest, not that he can reverse it, but he's been predicting it, so he would be an excellent guy to help pick up the pieces.

Come to think of it, Xym.'s suggestion of a McCain-Clinton ticket might get traction as a bipartisan way to ride the economic storm. Not that they can change it, but if there is a Plan to rearrange the Western world economies after the collapse (as the conspiracy crowd reckon), they might be its obedient executors. Killer fungus spells disaster for wheat

Eurekalert (New Scientist), March 12
A WHEAT disease that could destroy most of the world’s main wheat crops could strike south Asia’s vast wheat fields two years earlier than research had suggested, leaving millions to starve. The fungus, called Ug99, has spread from Africa to Iran, and may already be in Pakistan. If so, this is extremely bad news, as Pakistan is not only critically reliant on its wheat crop, it is also the gateway to the Asian breadbasket, including the vital Punjab region.

Why, no one in Washington is asking, does India need 7,000-mile range ICBM's, nuclear-powered missile submarines and powerful anti-ship missiles? Its current medium-range missiles cover all China. ICBM's are only needed by India to reach Europe, North America or Australia. India is unlikely to target Paris, London or Perth. But India will one day compete heavily with the US for Mideast oil, other resources and regional influence in the Gulf, Arabian Sea and even East Africa. China will inevitably join this strategic, three-way rivalry as Beijing and Delhi's economies and ambitions grow. Washington's helping India develop strategic nuclear weapons programmes will needlessly antagonise China.

The Dutch parliament voted unanimously Thursday to outlaw bestiality and pornography involving animals. Sex with animals and the making of animal pornography now will carry a punishment of up to six months in jail under the measure. Current Dutch law forbids bestiality only when animals are found to have been mistreated. Animal pornography is explicitly forbidden in 80 countries and pornographers had lobbied fiercely against a Dutch ban, said lawmaker Harm Evert Waalkens, who introduced the measure. "The Netherlands is now a magnet for perversities and we don't want that," Waalkens said.

Gravatar funnily enough, vallely was micky aquino's boos for whom he wrote his psywar tracts:

Garbage? a young gay is talking about his encounters involving sex & drugs with Obama when BHO was an Illinois state senator in 1999. I have no idea why he was called Henry.

Gravatar Rowan, a bit of zen,
You are what you are

Gravatar The traditional information filters have proven themselves to be less interested in the truth and more interested in advancing a position or agenda whatever they may be. Those wishing to remain free must develop and trust their own instincts regarding what is truth....and what is garbage.

Gravatar I think you would be very foolish to trust your 'instincts', travis. Our rulers know rather more about our 'instincts' than we do ourselves, generally speaking.

Gravatar I can't imagine how fritz copes with the psychoanalytic aspects of his honest theologian:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Eug...ugen_Drewermann

Gravatar Knowing our instincts helps us to avoid those who would trap us with them.

Gravatar not to mention the fact that drewermann hobnobs with the so-called 'dalai lama', who, as everybody knows, has been a full time CIA asset for forty years.

Gravatar there seems to be a sort of double-bind affecting german culture, such that it is unable to express any idea whatsoever in an honest way.

however, I was impressed by Horst Mahler, who with his scholarly colleague Dr. Oberlercher, managed to create an expanded theory of the historical dialectic of 'modernity' which attempts to locate both hitler and marx within a single system of categories. I don't understand it, because I don't read german, but it's a good idea.

Gravatar our rulers?

Gravatar Rowan,
Maybe in his position that is unavoidable.
But I guess his primary motivation is the welfare of his people.
He only advocates peaceful change.

Gravatar Eugen Drewerman has long experience with psychoanalysis and the Freudian school and the Frankfurt's one - and from this point he talked about German fairy tales, how this Frankfurt School claimed that they should have been the reason for the alleged "cruelty and militarism" of the german people. This shows their efforts to destroy our people during "reeducation", Imo. He was as honest, when he disagreed with the Vatican, to get his teaching permit withdrawn by them, and did not back off.
With the Dailai Lama this is not any serious allegation. Today the communist- capitalist China has cut off Tibet and Lasa with military , because of the protests of Tibetans.

Gravatar These allegations against Germans are horrible lies of the occupiers, because Germany and Prussia have waged far less numbers of wars in the course of centuries, than the neighbors and especially GB.

Gravatar there seems to be a sort of double-bind affecting german culture, such that it is unable to express any idea whatsoever in an honest way.

again insults from Berkeley, that need no comment.

Gravatar that now is too stupid, I have do something. bye

Gravatar I think it is really amusing that Fritz is dependent for his sense of 'German' moral identity upon a man of whom wikipedia can happily (from its leftist standpoint) say:

Influenced by Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, and more recent psychoanalysts, Drewermann radically reinterprets biblical texts according to psychoanalytic, poetic, and existential criteria. His method of interpretation has been clearly outlined in the 1987-1988 two-volume work Tiefenpsychologie und Exegese. His interpretations are as immediate as poetry and aim to rediscover particularly the therapeutic message of Jesus and of the Hebrew prophets, both for the individual and for society at large.

Gravatar Our rulers know enough about human instinct to work their magic at suppressing certain of our instincts and amplifying others, but this is far from an exact science. And while those elite few at the top may be smarter than I am, their enforcers, their frontmen, their implementers are not, and I can see their motives just as clearly as our rulers can discern my instincts. Instinct is certainly not to be feared, it is to be understood and guided by one's own intellect. It is what the west is waiting for. The return of instinct, to those who have had it taken away.

Gravatar I certainly can think of more important things to do than protecting tibetan monks from chinese troops.

Conditions are said to be increasingly tense within the three major monasteries in Lhasa, which are under lockdown and surrounded by troops following peaceful demonstrations over the last three days by hundreds of monks from Drepung, Sera and Ganden monasteries on the outskirts of the capital. Ganden monks demonstrated yesterday, marking the third day in a series of protests unprecedented in recent years that have now rippled through the Lhasa area, while others are reported in at least two remote rural monasteries and towns in areas of central and eastern Tibet.

i speak as one who has pursued historical studies into tibetan tantra.

Gravatar travis, i don't agree with your assumption that we are dealing with individuals who can be assessed one by one. We are dealing with a system, in my view, that relies largely on the subliminal side-effects of the movie and TV mass culture. The system as a whole has to be treated as a sort of hallucination emerging from the collective subconscious, in my view.

Gravatar The two Drepung monks who stabbed themselves in the chest, hands, and wrists in an apparent suicide bid were identified by Radio Free Asia's Tibetan service as Kalsang and Damchoe, both originally from Kirti monastery in Sichuan province. According to RFA, the two monks are in critical condition and are not expected to survive. They refused to move from the monastery to be hospitalized and are in Drepung's clinic.

-- maybe they got the idea from watching TV of the Israeli army evicting settler 'hilltop youths,'or maybe not. Religious parasites naturally resemble one another, without necessarily knowing of one another.

Gravatar Berkeley again insulting, this time tibetans.

travis that are good ideas of yours, i believe.

Gravatar Rowan I agree with your assessment, we are dealing with a media induced mass hallucination of cult like proportions. The media can create whatever reality they wish in the minds of the passive majority, regardless of how far removed from the truth. The power of the internet is that it has unleashed uncontrolled information into the mix, overwhelming amounts of it. The Sinclair interview in my opinion was the result of a very niave attention craving gay man who used youtube to let the world know that he blew Obama. I don't think Sinclair realized at the time what we all know here, which is that behind the charade of free speech/home of the brave etc., is a ruthless murder inc. that will stop at nothing to preserve and consolidate their power, including wacking inconvenient persons.

Why is that important? Not in any moral sense that matters, we have every variety of deviant sociopath in power currently. Its important to me because if it is true, I have insight into the "instincts" of our potential president. It is also important because it underscores the growing inability of our controllers to manage this frankenstein world they've created. It gives me hope to see so many of their threads unraveling. It is also frightening because as they lose control, their actions will become more dangerous.

Gravatar right on travis,

As surreal as it seems, it is not even entirely beyond the realm of possibility now, that there could be an event so cataclysmic as to subvert the election altogether.

I hate to even imagine the current hegemony in a real martial law dictatorship, but they have all the Presidential Executive Orders in place alreay. "just in case".

Gravatar yup. as I pointed out, there are legal drugs you can use in most parts of the world to open your mind - preferably, gently - to the astral.

I call it that for want of a better word, but really what I want to say is that there are dualistic elements in freuds psychodynamic model that confuse things : for him, this realm, the astral or whatever, must be SUBconscious - he regarded Jung's ideas about a SUPERconscious as mumbo-jumbo. I think Jung was more correct in that he saw that for a determined psychological MONIST, there can only be ONE 'source', and that therefore it cannot be good as opposed to evil, of display any dualistic characteristics of that sort.

Incidentally, Evola nrver understood this, and practiced a great deal of arduous magick while remaining a dualist. He was however self-disciplined to the point of fanaticism.

Gravatar I think I can break down a few more barriers here, by saying that there are necessarily 'occult' elements in all psychology, and hence in all intelligence and security operations.

This again is because the social unconscious or social superconscious or whatever acts as the real decision-maker, the humans appointed to the various roles in the agencies are just carrying out what appears, to ALL of them, to descend from the ozone as a collective bright idea.

Gravatar Rowan, What is your take on Victor Frankel? His work on ego etc, from what I understand, was partially as a response to the prevalent Freudisms.

Gravatar Viktor Frankl

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vik...i/ Viktor_Frankl

Gravatar I don't like him at all, because of his holocaust cultism.

Gravatar In fact, I would oppose anyone who claims that one has to enter a situation of real, external, objective dehumanisation before one can somehow find god on the rebound

Gravatar I would need to examine this in some depth, but reading the various brief summaries of Frankl's views rather suggest to me that his aim was to provide a system of 'psychotherapy' that would 'make sense' to the public, while of course freudian theory proper is highly counter-intuitive in the way it deals with human motivation. Frankl may be trying to escape from the 'hell of moral ambiguity' as many people did after finding freudianism too difficult.

Gravatar I know what I would recommend - Lacan's "Four Lectures On Psychoanalysis". Lacan has a para-logical method of getting freud's ideas across, which infuriates the linear minded reader, but gradually achieves its effect.

Gravatar My understanding was that his point in this "search for meaning" is that contrary to Freud, men don't necessarily act like animals even when subjected to animalistic conditions. They have a soul that trumps circumstance for better or for worse.

Gravatar well, juan, if that is what frankl said, then he was cashing in on the hoary old christian dualist antinomies, which is a very good way to avoid ever doing any psychoanalysis at all.

please look at the way you just used the words 'animal' versus 'soul'

Gravatar Like taking a bath in baloney..
All of this can be summed up in one single word. Illusion.
Immersing yourself in and washing yourself with matter will not remove matter. You will only become dirtier from material contamination.
Then it becomes impossible to realize the spirit in matter.

Gravatar such is the dualistic problem, yes.

Gravatar I think I see what you are saying, but I don't necessarily agree. It's an attempt to cut God out of the loop, which I wouldn't try to do. But I understand why others do it.

I like where Lacan says: (from wiki)

...that the analytic field is the only place from where it is possible to question the insufficiencies of science and philosophy.

Here again though, I would keep religion in play as well.

Lacan is definitely a non linear thinker. Interesting.

Gravatar I'm not saying that's exaclty what Frankl said. It was what I got out of it from my juvenile reading. His book was also my first exposure to the "shocking" Holocaust story.

Gravatar What are you saying hp, that the The Signification of the Phallus is only an illusion...? Surely not!

Gravatar What I'm saying, Juan, is that matter is also God.

Gravatar Rowan Berkeley | Homepage | 03.14.08 - 2:54 am |?
Yes.
And the Reverend Moon, owner of the Washington Times, has been a CIA asset for many years too.

Gravatar South Korean CIA. Quite different.

Gravatar I suppose you could see them as sort of franchise, but they don't have - they wouldn't even WANT - the kind of advanced individual and mass psychology that the american CIA seems so fond of, which, frankly, will in many cases REQUIRE agents to use psychedelics.

Gravatar A small glimpse into the true meaning of the phrase 'clash of civilizations?'

Gravatar A 'civilisation' in which the intelligence agencies necessarily use psychedelic drugs and practice occultism is a 'civilisation' in an extraaordinary crisis of science-fictional proportions, since no amount of abstract Games Theory will enable them to tame the realms they are exploring. You can see this very clearly if you look at the writing of Colonel Dr. Aquino. It's like poetry written by committee.

Gravatar But then, to be fair, he isn't CIA, he's army.

Gravatar How does one get on this committee? Do they have to be Jewish?

Gravatar it's a figure of speech, like describing a camel as 'a horse designed by a committee.'

like most military men, Dr. A has more or less no aesthetic sense, though of course he thinks he is a great poet of cosmic battle etc.

on the other hand, CIA is full of people who are professionally qualified in the psychological sciences, but aslo with humanistic backgrounds. this may be why the neocons regard CIA with so much suspicion - almost as bad as the 'striped pants boys' at State.

Gravatar the neocons themselves have next to no education except in the very narrowest forms of pragmatism. Ledeen for instance has never shown any sign of culture at all.

Gravatar I think I can sum up the whole issue by saying that the real religion of the USA was accurately depicted by George Lucas in 'Star Wars.'

Gravatar but again, you can't just pathologise it out of existence by referring to it as a "counter-initiation", as Guenon did. this would take us back to the naive idea that there exist two realms, a light realm and a dark realm, like mirror images of one another, and this is entirely untrue.

Gravatar i suppose this is where my own ideas join up with certain sufi ideas, actually. there is only one initiation, and only one hierarchy, but it seems to the dualistic mind that there are several hierarchies plotting against one another.

Gravatar again, you will not really find people in these hierachies who are innately good or evil ; you will find people who have become attached to certain roles within a fixed system of possibilities.

the 'spirits' that they may seem to be familiar with, I suppose could be described as variously innately good or innately evil - but this is because they are not really autonomous entities at all, but merely embodiments in the collective super-conscious of our shared ideas.

thus, when let us say a political leader develops a taste for grand guignol, and surrounds himself with the most sinister forces imaginable, it is because his 'role' as he conceives it requires him to do that. These 'roles' themselves emerge from somewhere else.

Gravatar in fact, the 'roles' emerge from our cumulative stock of movies and novels, which have colonised our collective imaginations in both the "sub" and "syper-conscious" dimensions. but where do the scripts for the movies, the plots for the novels, come from? ultimately from the stories we were told as small children, and from the way we visualised the events of those stories, and dreamed them in our sleep, and so on.

Gravatar Inspiration and dementia. And a few spirits, occasionally.

Gravatar I am sorry to go on at such length, but really this is a fascinating subject. It helps to explain why schizophrenia takes the particular forms that it does.

Gravatar How would i characterise the quality which defines the hierarchy i mentioned? What is it that those higher up the hierarchy have more of, if it isn't "goodness"? Surely it isn't some sort of mere technical prowess lacking in moral qualities altogether? Is there NOTHING left for 'spirituality' at all in your view?

I am glad you asked me that. My answer is very crowleyan. Crowley held that it is pointless to even discusss 'spiritual' matters with anyone until that person has acquired reasonable proficiency in yoga. His methods for acquiring this proficiency are somewhat drastic - they include among other things an exercise in which you cut your arm with a razor every time you forget some arbitrary speech rule you have set yourself. But they work, at least to the extent that a normal 'householder' can begin to understand what a yogi is doing.

Gravatar and, yet again, this yoga is NOT to 'subdue the ego' which is moralistic nonsense. you could say that it is to gain conscious awareness of the limitations of the reactive mind, i suppose. The curious thing about this apparently modest goal is that it implies you can stand somewhere OUTSIDE 'the reactive mind' in order to gain this awareness.

Gravatar I used to have a beer or two with an old artisan who would hole up in House Rock valley each winter with two books... one on something very technical and one on something very philosophical, which he would read concurrently. And then he would make a painting.. just one. Inspired (if thats the right word for it) by these two concepts merged or homogenized. He would sell that painting for enough (8-10k mas o menos) to bum the summer.. get by for the rest of the year. He had a regular clientel who would be waiting for his painting. It would end up being sort of a Dali -esqe surreal sort of thing, but it usually had planets and stuff... and a few subtly camouflaged female forms.. etc. Always interesting.

(no it wasn't hp, I haven't met him)

But I thought of him again when I reading about Lacan on wiki.

Gravatar however, if instead of trying to act out the classical yogic ideology, you use some legal form of psychedelic drug, then while you remain 'inside the reactive mind,' you have changed its performance characteristics, so that you can observe which variables are associated with the reactive mind and in what ways.

Gravatar yes, that is a good tactic, rather like a mental cut-up.

Gravatar but no amount of banging the mechanical and the mystical together will cause the intermediate form, the 'astral' as I called it, to emerge. It only does that when you actually address it approximately directly.

Gravatar also, unless you are very lucky with your choice of legal psychedelics, you will find any attempt to actually 'see the astral' absolutely exhausting at first. It isn't so much objectively dangerous as it is exhausting because of the constant hypersensitivity involved.

Gravatar behind the 'astral plane' as I conceive it is something I could call 'the causal plane', which I imagine would look like this plane except that it would be perceptibly panentheistic, in that every apparent phenomenon would be 'full of god' and nothing else. This is a desirable plane to be on, but if you went right there without working your way through your conflicts in the astral, you would find it nightmarish, and conclude that 'god' was psychopathic.

Gravatar stuff like 'star wars' works because it has enough more or less psychedelic imagery in it to connect with everybody's recollections of their various acid trips.

however, those recollections themselves will become dualistically distorted, as we now see with this world war garbage.

an example of the sort of imagery that is quite easy to visualise and sufficiently 'psychedelic' to produce a slight frisson when straight, is the van der graaf generator, spewing sparks all over the place. It is really not hard to imagine that 'spirit' and 'matter' are merely virtual poles between which 'life', or 'god', perpetually flickers, now, is it? but nevertheless you will find that it is harder and harder not to slot even that into some sort of half baked dualism.

Gravatar "As I conceive it." Rowan, your ego is matched only by your stubbornness.
There exists more than one 'yoga.'
The yoga you are consumed by is no doubt, and not by coincidence, the most materially excessive.
Regardless of what pseudo-mystics like Crowley claimed and 'advised', your chances of even minimal advancement in this Astanga mystic yoga is by its very nature next to impossible in this yuga.
It is, however, far easier and convenient to dismiss any possible detriments to the goals of the false ego than it is to accept the fact there really is light and dark. Just as it is desirable to dismiss any authentic spiritual authority.
If this is yoga, then you are considerably advanced.
No malice intended, just the opposite.

Gravatar I suppose I should be floored by the mystic term 'astanga', but I have never heard of it, and I am not one of those people who assumes that that means it's "mystical".

Gravatar it's the fact that people like you turn your pristine immaterial noses up at the material universe that explains why it's such a shitheap around here. don't expect me to be impressed, let alone made to feel "impure" by your waffle.

Gravatar How hard it is to imagine the Absolute Truth? Sounds pretty big, probably too advanced for little old me. That's real conditioning. Real illusion.
In Truth, it is easy enough for a child. Recommended for children.
No doubt this dissuades people whose false egos rule them. To even begin, they simply must make thing so intensely complicated, secretive and special that only they and a few other select 'adepts' have the will and knowledge of the ages, the incredibly gifted aura of God Himself. They are God.
Horse shit. It's as easy as a, b, c., but only if you don't do that. That's the key.
I'm not saying it's instantaneous nor should it be, but sometimes it is..
I'm not saying it's for everyone, but it is available to everyone. Equally.
Why make things harder than they are?
That's easy. Because one desires to.

I say this with no mean-spirit, nor exceptionalism. That RB is framed widely as a Nazi elsewhere facilitates my built-in detachment when apropos. But if the Tudeh Party overthrows the mullah system in Iran, all bets are off.

Gravatar Ha, ha, Rowan, your anger and insults are expected and amusing. Even as they are entirely yours alone.
I do know, with out consulting a crystal ball or a dictionary, that it would take a mystic act to convince you I have your best interests at heart..

Gravatar It's probably, on balance, a positive that Berkeley uses "parasites" rather than an opium
derivative (etymologically speaking).
But it won't be after the intifadeh succeeds.

Gravatar Luther affirmed, with St. Francis, our good pets will be resurrected.

Gravatar parasites? opium? what are you talking about?

Gravatar Ken, even our bad ones.

Gravatar Until someone waxes eloquent on Jakob Lorber and Bo Yin Ra on this blog, I won't consider it expansively
intimidating.

Gravatar you don't mind if I assume you just made those names up do you ken.

Gravatar it just struck me (I don't know quite how I got to this) that there is one respect in which you can blame the British for your problems : it was the British who first formed the idea that since the Romans had had such a nice empire they should have one just like it. They forgot that the price of such an empire is a lively pagan culture, which I don't think you can really claim the US has right now.

Gravatar Parasites as in your Tibet/Gush equivalency.

Gravatar ah. what you mean is that my term 'religious parasites' or whatever is analogous to marx's view of religion as the opium of the people. however be that as it may I see no prospect of any of the current wave of islamic rebellions achieving anything except increased saturation bombing hither and yon. the religious mindsets on ALL sides reinforce each other.

Gravatar on the other hand, the GOVERNMENTS of Pakistan, Iran, and Saudi Arabia, for instance could together defy the USA -if they were able to set aside their various subjective feelings, which history shows has often occurred, resulting in some very surprising strategic alliances.

Gravatar the fact that you think 'the intifadeh will succeed' makes me wonder about your genuineness, ken. it seems implausible that you would combine a taste for 'realism' with such 'idealism'.

Gravatar am i still 'framed widely as a Nazi elsewhere'?

Gravatar anyway, the thing I am pondering now which rather reminds me in terms of the title at least of Walter Benjamin's "The work Of art in the age of mechanical reproduction", is as follows : not only have our visual imaginations been colonised in their entirety, in that moving pictures cause the original creative visual imagition to atrophy, but also the contents of our visual imaginations have been standardised, to the extent that we all see much the same things in moving pictures. The question is, to what extent does this alter the overall GEOGRAPHY of 'the astral realm'?

Gravatar i'm outta here til tomorrow. goodnight!

Gravatar Thank God for the 'exception(s)to the rule.'

Gravatar "but where do the scripts for the movies, the plots for the novels, come from? ultimately from the stories we were told as small children, and from the way we visualised the events of those stories, and dreamed them in our sleep, and so on"~Rowan Berkeley.

And what are those stories we were told, but from legends, fables, mythology and religion?
Can we say they're aspects of our own psychology, or from real, definable 'other realities'?

Why not, both?

Gravatar both, ManFA, often both, fairy tales are more from the real than the modern copy world of media. Many tales are precious originals and that is why Eugen Drewermann was embarrassed, when some from "Frankfurt school" started to accuse these tales (Haensel and Gretel) of having created the alleged "German cruelty". It is like imposing Political Correctness into cultural heritage, a purge, like it happened in Bolshevism, with the result of a brutal slave society with gulags.
In the long run some people will always shed off false psychologies and venture into the living world. Stuff for further tales.

Gravatar This of course sounds like a (over)pointed claim, but as can be observed how many children are watching tv programs that are influencing them. These programs now are just there and made in some studios, but are seldom if ever a theme of discussion, as it should be.. and they are attractive.
When not so long ago we used to read a book which gives more freedom to imagination.

Gravatar and it is this generation, that has been most influenced by Frankfurt School in the wider sense, the teachers, politicians a.o., that have, in pursuit of their career, offered no resistance to the modern consumer society, to the total rule of finance, media and not to wars. I don't know for anglo countries, but liberation as it was said, has become liberalism and now plutocrats own economies,- maybe not for long.

Gravatar Who knows for how long Fritz, but certainly not forever. I enjoy your posts my friend. Guten Abend.

Gravatar fritz, if you hate frankfurt that much, I suggest you try and find some terrorist outfit who will attack it for you.

Gravatar thank's travis, -I just started to listen to Bob Whitaker's audio, he is even for me good to understand and a pleasant voice to hear. Good to learn more about the world.

Gravatar Fritz, you are a very thoughtful person.

Gravatar But if the Tudeh Party overthrows the mullah system in Iran, all bets are off.
Ken Hoop | 03.14.08 - 3:32 pm |

How did that segue from chit-chat about RB? Is he a nazi/mullah? Non comprende.

Gravatar Ken's mind moves in an almost incomprehensible way and I seldom manage to find out what he is trying to say. Presumably he likes it like that, I don't know why. Maybe it makes him feel superior or something, who cares?

Gravatar From the wiki on Viktor Frankl,
"Frankl often said that even within the narrow boundaries of the concentration camps he found only two races of men to exist: decent and non-decent ones. These were to be found in all classes, ethnicities, and groups."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vik...i/ Viktor_Frankl

Despite the almost exclusive focus on the jewish suffering in WW2, we need to remember that there were millions of victims of all races and religions.
I grew up during the time that many of the survivors suffered, unacknowledged as victims of the disaster.
I have known a few who survived their experience and they all say pretty much the same thing as Viktor.
A neighbour of mine had endured the deprivations of the Burma railroad.
One time there was a program on the TV about the deadly project.
He flagged me down next day and asked me if I had seen the show.
I said yes, and he said that it was some what misleading, he said the reason he and many others survived was because they looked after one another.
He felt they did not adequately portray the fact that the people that suffered the most were those who did not take care of each other.

Gravatar I don't think any of that has anything to do with psychoanalysis, though.

Gravatar While the Burma Railway deprivations were real, the German concentration camps were nothing like the same. There are plenty of photos of adequately nourished inmates at the end of WWII. Photos of stacked corpses are those from the horrendous typhus epidemics that took their toll especially when the camps were filled to excess when the Germans were retreating from the Red Army. The famous little dutch jewess wotsername died under exactly those circumstances.

Jews are really jealous of the aussies et al. who actually endured extreme malnutrition & tropical diseases & enforced labor while POWs of the Imperial Japanese Army. And yes, the aussies et al. kept each other alive by their truly remarkable mateship system.

It has often crossed my mind that the holohoax imagery has been shoplifted from what happened in Japanese POW camps. The opposite of the mateship system, the jewish kapos, ruled the German concentration camps. Can anyone imagine jewish mateship, moonkins?

Gravatar Maybe not.
But as psychoanalysis is about gaining insight, maybe it is a product of his branch of the psychoanalytic tree.
I read his 'The Will to Meaning. Foundations and Applications of Logotherapy, some years ago, and I must say I had reservations about the holocaust pall that I recall permeating the narrative.
I guess that experience would never leave you, jew or gentile.
I will reread it if I can find it.
I wonder what he thought about the current behaviour of Israel towards its neighbours?

Gravatar He felt they did not adequately portray the fact that the people that suffered the most were those who did not take care of each other.
moonkoon | 03.15.08 - 8:44 am

My friends and I read many POW books as young teenagers. The only two I recall with any clarity were Douglas Bader's Reach for the Sky and Latter Days at Colditz. They both embraced the mutual care theme as did most if not all of the others. It's a point deliberately overlooked by the Holohoax Survivors and I regard their incessant whining to be an intentional insult to the other 50 million people who died in WWII and the even greater number of people who had to carry on despite the loss. My extended family lost members as a direct result and some of my fathers friends survived concentration camp privations which compromised their health.

The only special thing about jews is their malignant self-obsession and complete lack of sympathy for the suffering of those around them.

Gravatar embraced = articulated

Gravatar righteo | 03.15.08 - 10:21 am | #

I have also been given a few first hand accounts of time spent in German camps, and in the German army.
From what I have been told, I can support what you say about the typhus etc.
Food got to be short everywhere, including of course, camps.
Towards the end of the war, one of my friends was drafted into an SS brigade (or whatever they are called) when he was just 16.
In the dying days of the war they were sent to bolster the futile attempt to halt the Russians.
The officer in charge of them realized they would die a pointless death, commandered a train, and hid his boys in a railway tunnel.
They survived by eating red beet for weeks.
He could not stand the sight of it forever after.
The captain got shot for his trouble.
Another said that his treatment by the Germans was best closest to the fighting, he said the Russians were treated badly.
His worst experience was again during the desperate time before it ended when he survived a walk from East to West with a tide of human misery.
He said hundreds of thousands died on this journey.

Gravatar moonkoon, as a general rule, I think you can take it that any 'psychoanalyst' who talks as if human emotions could be thus taken at face value is in reality running away from psychoanalysis, but trying to steal the name.

Gravatar whether he is equally unentitled to use the term 'existential' is a harder question, at least for me, since i have not yet managed to decide what (if anything) existentialism 'actually is'.

Gravatar walk from East to West with a tide of human misery.

The ethnic cleansing of Germans from everywhere east of the Oder River, the new western border of Poland.

Ingrid Rimland, wife of imprisoned Ernst Zundel, survived the march with her grandmother, and had to eat bark to survive.
http://www.zundelsite.org/ir.html

Gravatar the Russians were treated badly.

The Soviets did not sign the Geneva Conventions and the bad treatment one supposes was reciprocal.

Gravatar nothing would be sweeter to jews than to co-opt Germans killed by their genocidal policies into the h-c fable and charge the survivors for it.

Gravatar Berkeley

Fritjof Schuoun will explain existentialism for you.

http://www.sophia-perennis.com/philosophy/ existentialist.htm

Existentialism

In an altogether opposite order of things, let us take note of that suicide of reason — or "esoterism of stupidity" — which is existentialism in all its forms; it is the incapacity to think erected into a philosophy. Positivistic and democratic rationalism had to come to that.

ff.

Gravatar that would be the schuon who ended up running a sex cult, wouldn't it.

Gravatar sorry (a little bit), it should read "talmudians" instead of "jews", although i am still searching for a convenient tool to discern among them.

that definition of existentialism is excellent, ken.

i exist, therefore i am, probe the depth of that with your big toe.

Gravatar Scurrilous gossip, Berkeley.

Gravatar I am surprised you didn't pick up the contradictions which follow from my extraordinary claim that "there is only one hierarchy, despite the appearances of conflict" - especially because on the same day I was saying I didn't care what happened to the lhasa monasteries - if they weren't "externalisations of the hierarchy", then what was?

All I can say to this contradiction is that once the social system is smashed, the rituals are necessarily hollow and without substance.

Gravatar Victor Frankl:"Man's Search For Meaning belongs to a list of "the ten most influential books in [the US]." (New York Times, November 20, 1991).
I have heard this, but not read it. Astounding that he was working in Vienna until autumn 1942 ( with dubious methods) on suicide prevention and also in Theresienstadt (ghetto) on suicide prevention and teaching there.

Now comes Timothy Pytell, adjunct professor of history at the Cooper Union in New York City, to inform us that, based on his research for an intellectual biography of Frankl, the celebrated survivor spent at most three days at Auschwitz, while in transit from Theresienstadt in Bohemia to a subcamp of Dachau in October 1944. As Pytell observes, a reader of Man's Search for Meaning would "be stunned to discover that Frankl spent only a few days in Auschwitz." In the book, Frankl devotes some thirty pages to Auschwitz.
http://www.ihr.org/jhr/v20/ v20n5...p10_frankl.html

interesting also: JC Ballard: "Empire of the Sun", 1984, novel and impressive movie, if I remember accurately, about war imprisonment in Shanghai.

Gravatar Sorry to walk out on 'youse', I had to sleep.
I will catch up on the conversation.

Gravatar It's a good book Fritz. One that everyone should have read along with the rest of the classics

Even if Rowan thinks Lacan is a better psychoanalyst. Maybe true. I did appreciate that input, Lacan is interesting, but I think Frankl will leave a longer lasting impression in understanding the self than some non-linear dissection of surrealism that leads to feminism.. or liberalism.. or wherever the hell it takes you.

Frankl's work on the "Logos" is something people need to understand about themselves, even if they don't resonate with the rest of it. He created the concept of Existentialism. (or at the least coined that phrase)
Rowan was just trying hard not to give him credit for it because it's seems so basic now... like inventing the wheel or something.

Gravatar it is ridiculous to claim that frankl invented the term 'existentialist'.

Gravatar jean paul satre was full of it.

Gravatar I think it was kierkegaard who invented it.

Gravatar Well Ok. I wasn't there. lol

quoting from Wiki: (sorry)

"Frankl was the founder of logotherapy and Existential Analysis, the "Third Viennese School" of psychotherapy. His book Man's Search for Meaning (first published in 1946) chronicles his experiences as a concentration camp inmate and describes his psychotherapeutic method of finding meaning in all forms of existence, even the most sordid ones, and thus a reason to continue living. He was one of the key figures in existential therapy."

And from what Fritz posted, it sounds as though he did existentialize his Treblinka experience too.

But arguing the semantics, you are most likely correct.

I would still recommend someone reading his book, if they haven't.

Gravatar kierkegaard invented the THING, in my view. Who invented the TERM I hardly care.

Gravatar Quote to ponder:

" In the Middle Ages and later, the nobility, as a rule, considered themselves of better blood than the common people, whom they utterly despised. The peasants were supposed to be descended from Ham, who, for lack of foliar piety, was known to have been condemned by Noah to slavery. The knightly classes of many lands, on the other hand, believed themselves to be the descendants of the Trojan heroes, who after the fall of Troy were said to have settled in England, France and Germany. This theory was seriously maintained not only in numerous songs and tales of knightly deeds, but also in many scholars works” "

Friedrich Hertz.Race and Civilization, KTAV, 1970, p. 4; see also Hannah Arendt, The Orgins of Totalitarianism,Meridian Books, Cleaveland, 1958, pp. 161-65.

It was a form of this notion that Count Gobineau revived in the mid-nineteenth century, extending its conceptualization of superiority so as to include elements of the bourgeoisie.
Hertz, op. cit., p. 6.

Gravatar Ktav, now there's a publisher to conjure with - they did the only decent translation of the sefer yetsira, then let it go out of print.

Gravatar ^so you are disagree with Friedrich Hertz?

Gravatar what a stupid question, the two things have nothing to do with each other.

Gravatar 'lack of foliar piety'?
I lack it too, although the rest of the conjecture may have some relevance, considering that all the known Trojan horses are full of yids, who in what is known as Bolshevik revolution, overthrew their riders and became all powerful commissars, oligarchs, etc.

From hosses to bosses.

Gravatar Existentialism is an attempt to explain in Western terms, the Purusha?

Gravatar Yes hp. I would have to agree that the THING was invented several thousands of years sooner in Eastern culture than any of these would be or has been psychoanalysts existence.

In fact I would almost expect these guys to be studied in those Vedic concepts to be able to do what they did.

but.. I'm not really disagreeing with Rowan either.

Gravatar i can see I am going to have to come up with some account of what the word 'existentialism' really refers to. It's a lot harder than defining 'the frankfurt school', though.

In Sartre's "Being and Nothingness" as I recall it there was a lot of Heideggerian influence, expressed by use of the term 'authenticity'. What this was supposed to mean had become less pre-socratic than in Heidegger and more theological, to do with the examination of conscience on a supposedly intuitive plane, ignoring all ratiocination. In that sense it links back to kierkegaard's marvellous books.

Gravatar I have to admit a personal interest here anyway : I was told to ring Victor Frankl up on the phone one day by a tutor at architectural school who was alarmed by the fact that I was using the school workshop to build orgone blankets. Frankl wanted to tell me that Wilhelm Reich was rubbish, which he did, succinctly.

Gravatar They, for the most part, were studied in Vedanta. At a minimum, familiar with concepts like purusha, atma, and many others. That this fact is not expounded on, brought to light, is an under statement.
If I were a conspiracy type, I might think this is deliberate, has a purpose.

Gravatar Rowan, isn't that what I saw in Burrough's back yard, in Lawrence?
An orgone pyramid? A fish pond too.

Gravatar burroughs was definitely into orgone accumulators, he had one i think he used to shoot at for some reason.

Gravatar He liked guns a lot. And knives and whiskey and reefer.

Gravatar if you haven't seen these home movies of the old fart relaxing, here they are:
http://niqnaq.wordpress.com/2008...-unwinds-a-bit/

Gravatar Rowan, What was your final conclusion on orgone? Science or psudo-science?

It looks like Reich was the forerunner for HAARP.

Gravatar Juan, I have reverted to the classical freudian approach, i think : treat the question of the ontological status of the hallucination as ITSELF a symptom.

Gravatar what I mean is, the fact that he attempts to formulate a scientific theory which describes a force, as tangible as electricity but alive, present in human bodies at the cellular level but able to 'stream' through the body during orgasm - the desire to create such a theory is itself a symptom.

Gravatar also, I think when he wrote of the 'mechano-mystical split' in modern culture, he was describing himself, and this explains the nature of the symptom, the attempt to define 'élan vital' as if it was an electromagnetic phenomenon, a sort of frankenstein view of the life force, hardly uncommon.

Gravatar I agree.

Kundalini, chakras, cosmic orbits etc, I think is the same sort. While there may be real and measurable symptoms, the causes do get rather existential.

Gravatar the best pure theory of psychology would be indifferent to whether any external forces actually existed independently of our imagining them, or not. it would be neither 'idealism' nor 'realism' but a psychological theory dealing with the ways in which human minds articulate their uncertainty about what they are.

Gravatar come to think of it, this is one of my main reasons for hating lenin. I think his book against mach, "materialism and empirio-criticism", is complete crap. Reading that book was the last straw as far as I was concerned with lenin himself, though I was still prepared to read the whole range of 'world system theorists' a la wallerstein, who were basically following lenin's geopolitical assumptions. My complaint is about Lenin's personal arrogance, which is manifest in all the areas of his work. I may be just like him, but I don't expect people to write my views into their programs.

Gravatar You are just too clever for words. I don't think Lenin had that problem.

Gravatar trying to follow the discussion ... can animal magnetism be used to confuse predator drones by jamming their EM hardware?
that way we just point tom jones in direction of incoming swarm ... and all the time i thought the dude has soul.

Gravatar Rowan, thanks for the clips of Burroughs. Good stuff. No, I hadn't seen them. I noticed the date as august of 96. I was there in july and will always remember that I made Burroughs laugh and he made me laugh too. Good stuff also.

Gravatar Yea lobro, a white otis redding.

Gravatar http://books.google.com/books?id...DhmT_Bxj4& hl=en

Coomeraswamy on the logos re Transcendent Unity.

Gravatar The way I heard it, Krishna directly filled Brahma, the first created living being in the universe, with complete transcendental knowledge by way of His flute playing this eternal truth directly into Brahma's heart.

Gravatar only that Burroughs had no sympathy for Frankfurt school and Marx and Patti Smith is unmusical and hasn't learned to play guitar.

Gravatar Fritz clearly missed the entire punk rock period. I expect he was practicing bowel movements somewhere.

Gravatar Is it interesting which Hollywood star will be next to play "president" for the-war-and-climate-disaster-party? (McCain or Hillary). Even if McCain is a lot more honest than Hillary:

No.

The best hope for this election is that it will for the first time, bring electional participation well below 40 percent. Only this can make it clear, that the "democratic" system of the US is a corporate joke, even worse than the media-dictatorship of Putin.

Gravatar Well, Berkeley, today an American radio talk jabberer wondered why America is treated to Irish folk music and Scottish folk music but no English folk music, leaving him the impression the latter doesn't even exist. A folkorist professor e mailed
him English folk music exists but wasn't played by the bourgeiose English who settled America and favored opera.

Gravatar Donovan said much of punk was designed to destroy the higher English art school rock's values of the 1960s.

Gravatar I couldn't name one German band except Kraftwerk. Is Passport German?

Gravatar There will likely be a high election turnout because of the controversies swirling aroung Obama and/or the special animus toward Clinton. Secondarily, the ersatz but scary warmongering of McCain.

Gravatar I made a deal with a Democrat to not vote. We can both stay home instead of going to the trouble of canceling our votes.

Gravatar even worse than the media-dictatorship of Putin.

At least Putin is doing things that benefit the average Russian, unlike the Global capos running Western states. Screw democracy, I'll take a dictator that gives a shit about his race/culture over a stinking carpetbagging republicrat any day of the week.

Don't hold your breath about voter participation going under 40%, especially with the sex/color coded candidates making it really easy for the ignorant to choose the right puppet.

Gravatar The Scorpions and John Kay (who is Steppenwolf)were both German.

Gravatar Early, end of 60s, no one wanted to hear bands singing in German, though the Beatles started in Hamburg. But then later and now there must be many bands (all directions) singing german now. A famous punk band was "Einstuerzende Neubauten" and quite many others.
But myself I listen more to classic music. Also fine folk musik mainly from Bavaria and the Alps (south Tirol) is still alive in tradition. Also today a movement of more patriotic bands and songwriters is there.

Gravatar Steppenwolf was good, (english? but the name from Herman Hesse).
Democracy, as ideal, but in reality it is so ruined by the media manipulation. Could be that many are disappointed, to have no voice in the "public", except internet. Elections change little on economy and media owners today. A good dictator is always better, but that is the problem.

Gravatar I have a lot of records by this guy, who is an austrian esotericist:
http://www.discogs.com/artist/Al...ist/ Allerseelen
but given fritz's views (I am reminded here of poiyutr's remark about "truly ugly yodling fritzes") I cannot believe he has not heard of der blutharsch:
http://www.discogs.com/artist/De.../ Der+Blutharsch

Gravatar dont know him, but in the article he has declared his previous political music as banal, if that is true.

Gravatar if you have never heard of him, then any claim you make to be an ethnic german rightist becomes somewhat questionable.

i never thought you were anyway, your writing is so uneven that you are obviously only pretending to be german.

Gravatar actually communist provocations are just a little noise and out of fashion.

Gravatar I like "heroic pagan" music and kindred but have no use for even oi, which RB never posts of course, much less the punk atonalism he seems to enjoy.

Gravatar I like Chet Atkins.

Gravatar And Earl Scruggs.

Gravatar but you at last will have heard of albin julius, ken, I am sure. Neo-folk, not punk, is the genre involved here.

Gravatar How about Mannheim Steamroller? At least it makes great bumper music for Rush, and has no conspiratorial lyrics.

Gravatar Johnny Flynn and the Sussex Wit were in town (Austin) last week for SXSW. So were The Voom Blooms, Emmy the Great, Son of Dave and Ida Maria. I checked out Johnny Flynn, (pretty bluesy) and Ida Maria because my friend had free passes.
Ida Maria is a siren. I imagine they (she) will be big.
There were 700 bands here for SXSW.

Gravatar On second thought, it was Son of Dave who played blues. Johnny Flynn was very neo-folksy and excellent. Ruthie Fosrer was great as were the Jones Family Singers, a pumped gospel group who always kills. I remember at the ACL fest earlier this year many of the other musicians from top bands were blown away by their power.

Gravatar When he was "on" you couldn't beat Jerry Jeff. "On" what was the question.

Gravatar Atkins is technically brilliant but John Fahey was deeper than even he could deal with.

Gravatar neo-folk is a european term of art, it means crypto-fascist (ha ha, I know lots of exceptions).

Gravatar I've heard of new generation "fairy folk" or "freak-folk" like that guy
who occasionaly wears robes plays.

Gravatar with the Hindu hybrid name..hp?

Gravatar I know who you mean Ken but his name escapes me.
Do you know where Jerry Jeff was born?
Hint; it wasn't Austin.
Hint; get a rope.

Gravatar A little out of the blue, but I just read that Arthur Clarke died today, in Sri Lanka.
I remember he said that of all the anomalies he investigated (Arthur Clarkes Mysterious World) the Antikythera computer stood out as one of only two he considered truly unexplained. I believe the other was those crystal skulls, but I'm not sure.

Gravatar I was a JJ fan when he was a folkie
living in the east playing solo at college festivals with Bromberg and wearing railroad caps not cowboy hats. Osceola NY,Ron Crosby. He also was "angry political" early on--but then so was Henry Deutchendorrff.

Gravatar I've always liked Bromberg too. Saw him a year and a half ago. I was in jail with Bill Campbell for a while. He was playing rhythm for W.C. Clark back then.(79) They let him bring his guitar in and we would sing Meantown Blues, stuff like that. The good old days..

Gravatar Got off track there. The reason I brought that up was I remember Bill Campbell saying his girlfriend was Bromberg's sister.

Gravatar Oneonta-not Osceola, if there is one.

Gravatar another guy who used to be angry rebel
before he became goodtime charlie is jimmie buffett, believe it or not.
not sure whether material success breeds the mellowing or they found anger wasn't as good a gimmick.

Gravatar ok, that was the cynic.."as good a vibe."

Gravatar Ken, I don't know what you do for a living but I do know they don't pay you enough. That is, if there is a 'they.'

Gravatar I was typecast early on, to my professional detriment--but then so was Will Hutchins.

Gravatar Ah yes, Sugarfoot. I remember that well.
That may make you Johnny Yuma. Very fitting.

Gravatar The cynic in me might have been initially stimulated when as a prepubescent I read that Milner and Maharis couldn't stand each other off the set of the most naturalistic show in television history.

But when a lover told me a devout Christian friend of hers had gone to Leon Russell's dressing room to thank him for releasing a Gospel album and he groused he "only did it for the money sweetie," it was a bigger jolt.

Gravatar People say thing all the time Ken.
Perhaps Leon's response was due to he himself having just been dealt a blow by some Delta Lady or the other.
I mean, I know Leon looks like Jesus and all, but..
As for cynicism, well, I remember being about four years old and seeing Jesus hanging on that cross.
The rest is history.

Gravatar if you had been in jail with Walker instead of Campbell you could tell us whether his story about meeting Mr. Bojangles there is true or apocryphal.

Gravatar Willie Nelson's brother was my hearts partner. I wore his shoes quite a while..

Gravatar Doyle was his name

Gravatar Didn't Bromberg say as much? He sure did that song well.

Gravatar JJ lost his voice between "Bein Free"
and "Jerry Jeff Walker" that is, between Key West and Austin. Regained it somewhat.

http://www.stevenfromholz.com/ So...sandLyrics.html

Frummox anyone? Texas sleeper if you can get their original LP.

Gravatar Steven Fromholz and Rusty Weir are playing Saturday.
Ever hear of Red Volkaert, the 'Master of the Telecaster?'
He's playing right up the street, at the Continental Club. I live a couple of blocks East of there.
Jerry Jeff's 1st retirement bash is sunday, the 30th at Gruene Hall, a honkey tonk and a half. No doubt sold out.
He plays a lot at One World Theater, a dinner and music place. Very informal, chats with the smallish crowd.
In fact Leon Russell will be there in April.
It never ends here, Ken.

Gravatar In fact, last year when Donovan was here for SXSW, he played a special unannounced gig at Central Presbyterian church, down on the UT drag area. Now if I would have still been at my position at the Presbyterian seminary, which I resigned in '05,' I surely would have met him and possibly had a great story. Such is life.

Gravatar I know this is too much information but I don't care. I'm pumped because I'll be in Houston hanging out with Doug Kalitta, March 28, 29, 30. He'll be piloting his 8,000 horse power top fuel dragster and you talk about rocking, well if you've never seen these things you ain't seen nothing. He runs the quarter mile in 4.4 seconds at 330 mph! The thing goes 0-100 in .8 of one second! Twice a year (houston and dallas) I have a little fun.

Gravatar http://youtube.com/watch?v=Csg4Q4cvCAU
