The fact that the Sibel Edmonds story has gotten absolutely no play in the MSM tells me that there must be some kind of freeze out going on. To me, that doesn't impune her credibility, it actually lends credence to the story. 60 minutes did a piece on it several years ago. It will be interesting to see if they do one of those follow ups.

Pakistan's N tests were all duds with a maximum unverified yield of 12kt for one, 2kt for another, and less than 1kt for 4 others. Ironically similar to the N Korea result, all of which supports your back door thesis. On the other hand I'm led to believe that a bomb with a critical mass of U or P and the chain-reaction contained competently by enthusiastic amateurs could yield up to 1 kt.
Also according to FAS, Pakistan has had a great deal of N help from China, whose A & H bombs are 2nd generation, and Khan is a metalurgist, and U and P are metals. What if one can now test the implosion device, using a core of something other than weapons grade U or P, and test the residues to find out how a live core would have performed?
That would tend to dispatch the back door theory to the back burner, wouldn't it?

However, if you are truly trying to understand it, then you need to do more research before commenting - because you are way off base. Her website "justacitizen.com" would be a good place to start - and the many postings of Lukery on DailyKos. This is a serious story with scary implications, and to suggest that Ms. Edmonds is a willing pawn to some scheme shows how little you do know about it. Please do some homework and then come back with some informed commentary.

Pakistan Hits Out at UN Nuclear Chief
09/01/2008 Pakistan rejected the UN nuclear chief's criticism of its atomic weapons safety Wednesday, saying its arsenal would not fall into the hands of "extremists" and chastising his "irresponsible" remarks.
Foreign Office spokesman Mohammad Sadiq told a weekly press briefing that Mohamed ElBaradei, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), should "be careful about his statements and ought to remain within his mandate".

White House hopeful Hillary Clinton said Saturday she would propose a joint US-British team to oversee the security of Pakistan's nuclear arsenal if she was elected president.
"So far as we know right now, the nuclear technology is considered secure, but there isn't any guarantee, especially given the political turmoil going on inside Pakistan," Clinton said during a Democratic debate.

Has anyone out there tested local jews with the spelling bee yet? By that I am referring to asking them to spell words with more than one syllable preferably?? By my personal intel many of them (roughly 400) have left the UK (London area)for Edinburough (spellcheck?) rather quickly. Ineed this test out there to "out" these guys at universities abroad Europe.
Let me explain why at universities, here's how they work and get into positions of hiogh status (of which we desperately need to put a hault to across Europe--Sarkozy et al).
What happens is this--they get out of their Montessourri schooling, which is basically a slackish non-education, go into Julliard (Jew-yard) and from there with those credits get into a smaller university, let's say S.U.N.Y. or something. This is where I want to drop them--whap! Right before they go on to something Ivy League.
At these smaller Universities we need people WHO CAN "OUT" THEM via the public aknowledgement on campus that they cannot read or write or for that matter do a simple multiplication problem (456 X 700 or something).
If we stop them there at these smaller campuses we don't have the Harvard-mobile phonies wandering around lourding over us as they froggyjump right to the top of the socialist ladder in Europe, eventually winding up prime ministers or something of equally disasterous proportions. This is a major problem and we can stop it right there before this tangled mess blossoms.

Your idea sounds like a real possibility to me. Disinformation and deceptive nuclear transactions could certainly explain what Ms. Edmund says she heard. (And incidentally, that would not take an ounce of bravery away from her story.)
But if you claim absolute certainty that you are right, certain that Edmund's story is bunk, well, that would be a sign to me that you aren't serious about finding out the truth.
Clearly, you might be right, or you might be wrong. This might turn out to be a story of double agents talking to double agents, or it might turn out to be a story of real theft and real information sales. Neither is the least bit implausible, as far as I can see.
The idea is simply to find out the real story. There is a real story in there somewhere, don't you agree?

Saddam’s entire nuclear inventory was later stolen from these warehouses right out from under the Americans’ noses. I think Clemons and, to some extent, Xymphora are correct. However, ahem, the Sunday Times article basically ignores Israel when, given the players, it had to be, in some fashion, an Israeli project. Also, while, yes, the nuclear counter-proliferation scheme is clearly part of the story, one way or the other, it's not all of the story and does not really account for various other aspects of the tale, 9.11, etc. Yeah, BCCI really was used as an intelligence asset and, yeah, that was the argument used to shut down the investigation, etc. but at the same time BCCI was multi-billion dollar scam and a funder of all kinds of unsavory folks. Untangling--though, of course, it's unlikely that it every will be since the nuclear intel cloak is quite dense--Edmonds story, even if the most logical explanation is correct would still be interesting. If, say, various players were, as she suggests, buying congressman and radically manipulating intel it's still a very big story and worth sorting out.

I dunno about that. Seems to me that she believes what she heard and I don't see why she can't be straight. It's possible, perhaps likely that she's telling telling the truth. (If she's not then I'd guess that she's a honey pot and run to protect the friendly mugs on her website.)
Unless I'm missing something, she's telling the truth because lying at length requires a lot of people in on the game and, yeah, as a rule, the larger the conspiracy, the more likely that something will go wrong. Her story has--even without, perhaps because of, press coverage and snide remarks by Larry Johnson and Xymphora--held up. Her tale made smoke, got a little coverage, resulted in some documents and testimony, and it's still around. In the last several years, legal and sometime literal flames have appeared under most of the people she discusses. And yet, her audience is still mostly dismissive, not confrontational.
Remember the Christic Institute Iran-Contra suit? Even if that was a highly manipulated case, some of the people involved had real stories to tell, detailed legal arguments, and were true believers. Or, alternately, she's the poison in a Christic-type case--everything she "knows" is false and the rest of it is real.
Xymphora is dismissive of Edmonds but I'm not sure it follows that it isn't in everyone's best interest to sort out her story in public. More articles, more hearings, or an investigation may not resolve the issue but what other pragmatic options are there? Just sorting out how and why the US media coverage of Edmonds is so weird would be valuable. Presumably, Xymphora and Clemons think the heads of all the major media have been contacted by adminstration-types or CIA-types and told that good patriots will recognize the Edmonds story as well-intentioned intel gone wrong, or still in progress, or part of a criminal investigation, or a Skull and Bones prank, or a secret TV pilot about the secret government made by the secret government channel. Just the whelming silence, in that case, is interesting enough.

When she first hit the spotlight, she did an ABC (US) interview. She was banging on about Palestinian attacks on Israeli civilians (the little hypocrite). The interviewer pressed for an answer to the question
"Are IDF members legitimate targets for Pal militants?", despite Tzipi plying him with alternative doses of the Evil Eye and Tzipi the Seductress. In the end she more or less agreed that they were legitimate targets. I used to have a transcript of the i-v. I'll see if I can find it. I'd be very surprised if there's any record of it on the www.
