Oh that chair is gorgeous!!! I'd go with a natural linen color for the upholstery. It would be gorgeous with the white wood and a great back drop for colored (accent) cushions!!! But that is just my opinion

Fantastic chair! Does the wood look OK without the upholstery? Maybe you could use loose cushions on it for maximum flexibility and cleanability.
I went junking (shopping at garage sales) yesterday and happened on a floor jack that will make putting snow tires on much faster and easier; I rarely manage to get them put on before the first snow LOL. So the jack will pay for itself the first time I use it.
Oh, and regarding crafting corners, would a folding screen fit in your space? It could also serve as storage and/or display space.

Love the chair! If you don't want to do the tacks, maybe you could find a nice trim and use a glue gun to affix to the fabric? Just an idea.

I can't wait to see how the chair turns out! And I love love love your sheets. I've been on a tablecloth kick, but mostly from antique stores.
I haven't ventured into thrift stores yet! I may have to after seeing those beauties you picked up.
