Gravatar Oh man, that is painful!

It's kind of like having a neighbor with a dog that barks incessantly - So picture if you are a dog lover like me, and want to be a kind neighbor and get along - but still hate all the barking. It is just a bad situation all over.

Except, of course, in my example I was the neighbor WITH the barking dog. After the shock of the note my old neighbors left for me - my initial reaction was anger. But then I put myself in their shoes, calmed down, and called them and worked through various solutions.

So - if things don't improve - try a nice long note assuring them you want to be a good neighbor, and acknowledging that you and your son also make some noise - but perhaps have some suggestions for the bass guitar issue?

Good luck!!

Gravatar LOLOL The same neighbors' dog barks ALL THE FREAKIN' TIME! They also let the dog run wild all over my deck and pee on my flower pots if I forget to put up the old baby gate I resurrected to keep that dog off my deck. And their dog poops on my deck (although the neighbors clean it up) -- just runs straight over there, even when everyone's looking, and squats! And I'm a dog lover, too! I just like better-behaved dogs, adn I have to choose my battles. ;^) I'm not implying that your situation is even close to this one. I do think that the way the neighbors treat their dog (a Bichon Frise) adds to its behavioral problems; they give it all sorts of table food, which gives it diarrhea, and they scoop up the dog when it barks, which is not discipline. (I'm not saying they should do anything harsh -- just something consistent and effective.) Seriously, I love dogs. I had one once and I dogsit for my sister's pooch...

Um, what was the question...? ;^)
