We do the "Christmas Kickoff" the day after Thanksgiving when the kids are at their dad's that day. We have the big dinner then, put up the tree and decorations, all that stuff. It makes it like a double holiday.
No,no- cut loose with the lights. We're holding a tacky light contest over at my place and early entries get priority judging.
I remember that language well- and how hard it was to be without the kids on every other. Eventually I learned to relax and enjoy the quiet time but it was always a little sad.
