Hey, I agree with you. Santa is a great thing for kids to believe in!
When I was a kid, Santa would bring me one surprise present every year, but everything else I knew came from my parents. And it was always practical stuff - socks, books, pajamas. That might be a good way to do it.
I remember finding out that Santa wasn't real (and the tooth fairy and the easter bunny) when I was four. My next door neighbor who was a year older than I was told me.
She sucked.
