Gravatar Beth-It's so important to remember that these panic attacks are, essentially, a physiological event. All the things you do to avoid them and deal with them when they happen are appropriate and helpful but feeling ashamed of for them is not much different from feeling ashamed for having the flu for getting the flu.

You are doing what you need to do.

Gravatar I used to regard my panic attacks like they were a disease in my blood. Or an invisible poisonous mist that I'd walk into and be consumed by.

The pain was...well, maybe you know.

I spent the most painful nine months of my life ending them. They're gone now. Gone forever.

If you wanna talk sometime, let me know.

Great blog, btw!

Gravatar I'm glad you got through the panic attack ok. I know how horrible those can be. And yes, don't feel bad. As the first commenter pointed out, you can't control them any more than a runny nose!

Gravatar Having had a small glimpse of panic attacks, I have some idea of how overwhelming they are. Do not feel ashamed! Write write write. We will listen.
