Your son is lucky to have such a good mum. My son has an inhaler he has to suck on about three times a year. He has mild asthma that is only triggered by a very specific dog dander. Go figure. Glad the kiddo is back in business.

I know what you mean about being the overprotective parent. At home my husband is SO PROTECTIVE! But in public, he pushes me in front. I think it must be because he's very, very shy.
I don't think you are overprotective at all. Any doctor that doesn't welcome questions is not the doc for you.

I just recently found your blog and have spent the last few days reading it from the begining. You sound like a GREAT mom, and kiddo sounds adorable. The way you describe some of the funny things he says reminds me SO much of my own little critters. Looking forward to reading more!

I'm glad the kiddo is feeling better though. The short acting inhalers are just that -- short acting. Typically what will happen is that you'll use the inhaler and then have a late phase flare later on that is not nearly as responsive to the inhaler. That's why steroids are used to treat asthma as well -- they help with the late phase flares.
Anyhow, I hope you continue to have more positive interactions with the doctors on staff at this place. It sucks when you feel like your concerns are being ignored. I'll have to remember this when I'm actually a doctor 14 years from now!
Eek! I thought our double asthma attacks were bad, but that sounds horrific. Good luck with the steroids, and I know how long the nebulizer takes so I'll wish you lots of extra battery power too.
