The sweater is a beauty. It's too bad about the yarn though.
My MIL used to do the same thing, until I told her flat out that x time wasn't good for me or she could come but I'd be working and unavailable. I hope you're still able to find time for yourself.
i think it looks great on you! it's a shame you're not so happy with the yarn, but hopefully you can enjoy wearing it - i think it will look lovely with your hair up, wide trousers, maybe clogs - it's cute! yay!
