my guess? they're assuming that those two stitches are selvadge, and will be sucked into the sweater when its sewn up at the end. so that would translate into K52, pattern... 11?, k52. makes sense to me...

I love the top! It reminds me a little bit of the Vested Gentress designer from the 60s and 70s. I love their patterns and buy as many as I can afford.

The more you tell us about your fabric shop, the more I want to live around the corner! Although that would be dangerous, my fabric stash is bigger than my wool stash and seems to be growing rather than decreasing in size.
The top is lovely, really summery.
Is the little black top the one with the girl on the front?

Ugh! Sorry to hear about the pattern problems with The Little Black Top. That sort of thing annoys me beyond belief. Your sewing projects are lovely, and they don't seem to be giving you such hassles.
