Anna, I am really sorry to hear your news - I hate those untidy plot letters, so soul destroying when you're trying your best to keep on top of everything.
I am not really sure what to suggest: it sounds as if you've already made your mind up to call it a day. It's not hard to understand why so many people give up allotments when allotment associations/councils let large, extremely overgrown plots to people. There's got to be a better way!
I do hope you come away from the experience with something positive, that perhaps you can take up growing vegetables again at some point in the future when the circumstances are different.
