P.S. Anna, Dr. Fred said tell you that from experience he had the sh*ts for a month straight and everything he ate came out just the way he ate it along with some blood.
The Flagyl will help. The Cipro will kill the good bacteria that is beneficial to the GI function; therefore making it where you will not absorb the proper nutrients that you need for life function and will make you bleed even more. If you are not running a fever, you don't have a bacterial infection. If you are already comprised and you take Cipro, it will just compound the bleeding problem.
Anna, Dr. Fred said that he would definitely get a SECOND OPINION and/or a THIRD OPINION before he would ever part with his Sigmoid Colon.
Nonetheless, here a big Texas hug just for you. ((((((HUG))))))

Anna, it sounds like you have an ameoba (from lettuce (unwashed), meat (unrefrigerated), fruit, or the like). That little critter is great for weight loss and you can drop 30 pounds in one month because the food goes straight through you but...
In a few days you will be as good as new. The Flagyl kills parasites that are causing you a big problem. The military doctors use Flagyl more than civilian doctors seems like to me. It's sort of like Hot Shot - it kills bugs on contact. I'm rather impressed with your Doogie Houser. Had he not prescribed this for you, you would sh*t yourself to death.
The way that you wrote your post was very funny. Your situation is not funny at all. You are in our thoughts and prayers, Anna. We love you.

I'm a little late reading this, Anna, but know that my prayers and well wishes are with you during this tumultuous time in your life.
While I understand the need to be tough when it comes to situations like this, I've also learned that it's ok to be human and to be scared. I've gone through three surguries now and there wasn't a single time that I allowed myself to forget the reality of the situation that is laid out before me.
Allow yourself to be afraid, to cry, and to be strong. It is with these emotions that we tend to grow and learn.
If you need anything at all, you know how to get in touch with me. Please feel free to do so.

Holy hell Anna-like you don't have enough shit in your life (def pardon that fucked up pun)I'm like that too, that would scare the beee-Jesus outta me-but I just know YOU will be fine. Between now and *fine* its gonna suck for a bit-but you are a strong lady. I would def get a second opinion before any surgery. I know God personally and I will ask him to watch out for my Anna. I promise.

I'm not into cockroaches, but you have my thoughts.
Living alone and generally having nobody to talk to about such things makes stuff like colonosopy's seem scary even before I go through it.
Hell, two months ago I went through some infection in my hand where the doctor told me it was possible I could lose it if I hadn't gotten treatment.
Then where would I be? Without my favorite sex partner. So, fuck.
It's the fear of the unknown that makes me lie awake at night and wonder, so you have my thoughts and prayers. I can't imagine getting such news and having nothing but the cat and the four walls to plead to. Writing about it is good for the soul, and maybe it will help you.

I am praying and sending healthy thoughts and love and positive energy and if I see a cockroach, I swear I will certainly sacrifice it on a tiny alter. I promise.
Hang in there, Anna - my mom had this in February of last year and she is just an ornery as ever. Ornery-er if that's a word.
I don't want to be THAT person that says "I knew someone who had that and they're fine! No biggie!" but I guess I am..I'm sorry, I suck at this.
Love and HUGE hugs.
